Game time at 7:00 PM vs. Milwaukee

Should be an awesome night at Van Andel!

I'm interested in hearing how this one turns out.  If someone is watching the game or going to it, it would be cool to get a recap of how Helm looks, as well as the Wings' prospects playing in GR.

Guarantee he's out with a groin injury after this game.

Helm with a shorthanded breakaway... Excellent speed... but was stuffed

He was being bothered right at the end by the Dman

He's not up to his normal speed yet.

McCollum on Sproul: "One of three things will happen when he takes a slap shot from 50 feet: he's going to break a pane of glass; he's going to score; or he's going to kill a goaltender."

I like it.

I paid the $6.99 to watch the game online... wish I knew how to share it.

Nyquist in the AHL is like Pavs in the NHL... he just skates circles around everyone.

Helm looks fine

Helm will get a breakaway and then miss the net.  Then we'll know he's back to normal ;).

Helm already has multiple steals and he has made a couple hits halfway through the 2nd period

Helm took and delivered hits in the 3rd... has a second gear he went to a couple times to speed past defenders... made some good steals, but missed some shots.

Nyquist was the best skater on the ice.

Also impressive: Pulkkinen (looked good for a small guy), Sheahan (stud), Sproul (he can skate), Jarnkrok (he can dangle), Jurco (getting better defensively)

Yes thanks for the updates indeed!  It sounds like Helm had a good night.  I imagine they would have sat him if he was experiencing any concerning unpleasantness related to his back.  I suppose we'll see how it feels over the weekend, too.

Not a single mention of his back or groin.  He just needs to get back in game shape.  Might take in some time (month(s)) to get back to the old Helm, but there were definitely flashes during the game.

Color it a successful shade of yellow

Jarnkrok

I can't help but feel like he's been underwhelming but it's very much an irrational but immediate reaction.

Maybe it's because of the hype but I expected much more of a jump in his step/battle level.  Also I'm stereotyping him a little bit because of the experiences with European players who believe they're too good for the AHL and eventually get sick of "paying their dues."

He's new to the North American game. It takes time.

Thank you all for the updates.

This has me a stoked, I am not trying to jump the gun or Jinx Helm but i am excited he is playing again.

Then wings would greatly benefit form a Nightmare on Helm street.

Thanks again
