On FSN Coyotes, this is referred to as an Arizona Powerball Lottery power play. The play-by-play guy could barely string all of that together.

Howard is pretty great.

I'll just put this out there but I didn't think Howard was that good. With Detroit in the West all we heard was Raask, Thomas,Price etc.... I though he was Meh.

Welcome to the east Jimmie......you'll be making a name for yourself in no time.

I love that Ericsson now uses his size to help clear the front of the net.

He has panned out into a pretty darned good defenseman. $3.25m is now very much a bargain.

And of course, he's in a contract year...

That helps, but he was very good last year also.

Absolutely. That was more a "he's going to be due a raise due to his good play" comment, than something accusing him of only playing well because of the contract year.

Yay, 2-0

Why not give it to Alfie for tonight?

My guess is that the equipment staff didn't bring any extra "A's" for the jerseys on the road trip. With Kronwall being out for a week or so, we might see a 2nd "A" when the Wings play at home again...

PK upcoming. Kindl for slashing.

I've probably missed this but where has Mickey Redmond been? Not a of fan of Ozzie doing commentary...

Mickey usually stays at home on long road trips. Prior to getting fired, Larry Murphy usually handled the color commentary duties on long trips. Though, after the firing, Redmond was on the road for all games last year.

Redmond has Celiac Disease, which means he needs gluten free meals, which can be hard to find on extended road trips.

My guess is that he'll get Kronwall money, if for a shorter term.

- Incredible start - but Quincey's stupid penalty killed all of our momentum

- Stop taking stupid penalties

- We have had some absolutely phenomenal goaltending in this young season

- We've also had a whole lot of luck, mostly re: pucks somehow not finding their way into our net

- I had a dirty dream about Shannon Hogan earlier. Hurray for naps

I love Mickey, but I kind of dig Ozzie doing the color on the road. It's cool having someone a bit younger that isn't THAT far removed from his playing days giving some insight.

He'd be a good choice. I could also see some of the veteran Wings (Cleary, Bert). You'd think they'd have packed an extra A, just in case. Or just borrow one from a Canadian, eh.

They can't magic marker one on?

Brendan Smith is a disaster. First he lets Doan get past him, and then hooks him when Doan would NOT have scored from that close in.
