Pavs needs to hit the damn net in shootouts. Brilliant game, but his leadoff shootout attempts this year have missed the net entirely, more times than not.

I actually imagine that new, effective ideas are pretty difficult for any shootout artist at the NHL level.

Yea, I imagine it is as well.. but if anyone could do it, it's pav. I just think he should look into mixing it up a little.. keep goalies on their toes. Even if he just skated in and ripped a shot in the slot I bet goalies wouldn't see that coming. If he scores a couple like that, faking shots becomes a lot more effective. Idk, just my thoughts but either way I'm not worried.. it's pav, he'll figure it out.

Datsyukian

Dat·syu·ki·an [dat-soo-kee-uh n]

adjective

          1. When your moves are so amazing and beyond reason, the only way to describe them is "datsyukian."

Dats needs to stop going first until he gets his mojo back

Is there a kickstarter campaign for Jakub Kindl to never play another NHL game?

If there is ONE guy in this league that a goalie would study shootout tendencies on, it's Pav.

His last two attempts have looked lazy and goalies are looking for that move. I don't understand his complacency...

I wish he would try a fake to the forehand and go backhand five hole.  I mean, with the new goalie pads the odds of that working are better.

This is the stupid "fun" word you hear all the time -- "Yeah, we're just going to have fun out thur!!!"  But Datsyuk seems to not enjoy himself in the shootouts. Always frowning.  In the past when he converted he seemed to be a little more excited.

Because they're doing so much of it now?

You know what they'd NEVER expect him to do? The same move 4 times in a row.

Next shootout is in the bag

The goalies have gotten wise to him.  It's time to change things  up.  A new shot from the bag of tricks...a new shooting order.  Whatever it takes, they need to throw a monkey wrench in the proceedings.  Give them something they weren't looking for.

I think the shootout is in his head too much. He was doing fine until everyone started saying that he uses the same move too much, so he started tinkering with it and it hasn't worked out. He should just go back to what worked before and tune everything else out. With his skill level he should be dominating the shootout.

Come on be serious. I like Helm as much as the next guy but the guy can't score on breakaways what makes you think he can score in a shootout. We might as well put Jimmy out there if he can't stop a goal maybe he can score one.

Pav should just shoot. He's done it before pretty succesfully. Goalies won't be expecting it as much.

Z should take more attempts too, he's clutch and could probably score now that we're in need of points.

the brunner move looked pretty effective....fake wide then jam it home short side....the force and momentum takes it unless goalie locks his skate in the pipe.

also the flipper shot....get the goalie sprawling and go over his head/leg etc.

pav is also good at popping the puck up...go for the bunt hit five hole.

the same move is getting shut down by pav's own head. shot wide....shot wide...shot wide....

I wish Pavs would finally take some advice from LGW... He obviously doesn't know what the F he is doing out there.
