I'm so confused. I didn't even know that Red Wings were allowed to score goals after the second period.

Alfie comes back and gets two points. Very nice, now he needs to stay healthy.

Awful awful hockey game but I'll take the two points.

And I've said it before, for once tonight our goalie outplayed the other one and that was the big difference tonight. Buffalo had more than enough chances to win this game.

Happy about win, but can't get too excited since the team we beat was Buffalo

Getting Pav back against Boston will be huge. Good win tonight to get a much needed two points. Truly saves my weekend, being a Colts and a Michigan fan.

This is so bittersweet.  We won, yet we are so horrible right now.  We barely won a game against Buffalo.  Yikes.

Imo a pretty solid road-game considering it was a back-to-back. Not great by any means but Gustavsson was great when he needed to be, the PP was good and we didn't really give them more than 1 goal. That's what we gotta keep doing, not giving 2-3 easy goals to every team. If they have to fight for it themselves we'll beat these bad teams easily.

Tatar, Smith and Nyquist have been 3 of our best players these 2 games. Alfie was really good tonight too.

Yeah, I know it was only the Sabres, but we did just about enough to beat them.  Monster was strong, Tatar was noticable every shift, Alfredsson plays with such poise, and even Mule was making things happen out there.

"If I can be totally honest, it's not a lot of guys you get impressed by. Actually, it's no one else but him. From the bench, to see what move he makes -- you're like, 'I wish I could do that.' Sometimes you sit on the bench and just think, 'wow,' and you look over to the other bench and they sit there and shake their heads, too. He has great, great skills. I'm probably not going to play with another player who has the kind of skills he has." Mikael Samuelsson on Pavel Datsyuk

Woooohoooo a win! Gustavsson had a great game despite the low amount of shots. He stopped a ton of quality chances including the penalty shot. I think he should be in against Boston and keep him in for a while. Let Howard work his way back into his starting spot. (Not saying Monster is better than Howard, but Howie can't seem to win games)

I'm really happy with the effort we put forth tonite. I mean, it was really hard to watch this game so I want to commend all of us for fighting the urge to turn it off and walk away. Props everyone!

To you as well! Even though I'm sure we were all banking on the fact that they would blow the lead yet again.

Really happy they got the two points but I'm not too excited about beating the Sabres honestly.

Great, much needed win bythe Wings. THe only complaint I have is Dan Cleary and Kindl.

Fact is, after this game, I think Babs needs to realize to play Monster for the time being.... he is getting us wins. We all know Jimmy is good, but he has not been getting us wins. Jimmy has started nearly all our games, and has been limited to just 5 wins. Monster has started 6 times and has 5 wins... To me that says that Monster is doing his job and deserves to keep playing. Not only did he make timely saves, but I love the way he can come out and play the puck... it helps the team SO MUCH when retrieving pucks. At the end, he made a save with his glove, put it down and passed it out to allow the Wings to clear... that is stuff Jimmy can;t do and it helps. I just feel that it seems like, this season thus far, the Wings play much more confidently with Monster in net. Keep playing him.
