Is Jimmy definately starting?

"If I can be totally honest, it's not a lot of guys you get impressed by. Actually, it's no one else but him. From the bench, to see what move he makes -- you're like, 'I wish I could do that.' Sometimes you sit on the bench and just think, 'wow,' and you look over to the other bench and they sit there and shake their heads, too. He has great, great skills. I'm probably not going to play with another player who has the kind of skills he has." Mikael Samuelsson on Pavel Datsyuk

With Bert out I say give Weiss a shot on the 1st line with Gus and Mule and let Emdog center the 4th line.

At this point Lecavalier sure is looking a lot better than Weiss. Just saying...

I think that's pretty much guaranteed to happen. Emmerton won't be 1st line C and Babs is a fool if he splits up the Helm or Andersson lines that have been great for us.

Franzen - Weiss - Nyquist

This is Weiss's chance to try and grab those reins again

I also like the look of Franzen-Weiss (sounds like a delicious German beer no one's ever heard of)

So far, there's a reason no one's ever heard of it ...

Awesome beer!

Going to cringe, but I'm sure our boys will give it their all.

Money on the board:  Current total: $6

$1 for a goal by any current Wing after whom I have named a hamster.  An additional $5 for a series-clinching goal scored by any current Wing after whom I have named a hamster. $5 if the other team fails to score against a current Wing goalie after whom I have named a hamster.

Hamsters I have had:  (current Wings highlighted)

Henrik Pavel Tomas Nicklas Dominik

Niklas Matthew Daniel Robert

Johan Andreas Valtteri Jonathan

Andrew Patrick Ian Todd

Jordin Damien Gustav James

Now we get to see what this team is made of and how Holland's summer acquisition (Alfie and Weiss) will perform.

No Vinny for the Flyers, huh?  OK, then.  I think our guys will adjust to no Z and D, sad as this makes me feel.  They have to.

I have a theory that Mule plays better if he has a challenge and more ice time.  Without Pasha in the line up, he got more TOI and suddenly started producing.  With Z out now, too, I expect lazy sucky Mule to get nothing less than a hat trick, all three unassisted.

Do it, or I throw my shoe at you.  Hear me?  :shifty:

Go WINGS!!!!

Alright Weiss, your time is now. Get some ice time and make a better impression. I would like nothing more than to see him come off that anchor of a 4th line and get promoted up when we are 100% healthy again.

I typically haven't tried to guess the scores lately but I think a little positive thinking is needed.

Wings 3 (Weiss, Franzen, Kronwall)

Flyers 2 (who cares)

It still would be nice to have that one guy. (Jordin Tootoo, wish granted)

philly followed by new jersey (brunner, woo) then florida twice.... at least we have an easier stretch of schedule with pav & z both out. the wings should be able to take all four if they keep playing how they have been. LGW!
