If I'm an opposing GM, I'd only want youngsters like Nyquist, Tatar or DeKeyser. Maybe Smith if I thought he had potential. I don't see us trading the first several players I named.

Well if there's any positive I can make out of this it's that if Howard was in tonight we might've gotten blown out of the Joe the way he's played this year. I really wish we could win the games we are supposed to. I don't want to hear the injury excuses. I don't see a reason to not start Monster again next time out. He played exceptionally tonight even with the loss. He faced a ton of shots and kept them in the game all night. Roll the hot hand while it's still burning.

Philly did want Cleary. The other team would not be giving up much especially with the Wings paying most of their salary. Of course that will NEVER happen. Who to give up - Quincey, Cleary, Samuelson, Weiss and Emmerton. Would this get a first round draft pick? Not likely. Maybe a third rounder. Getting rid of those players sure would help the cap space. I'd also bet that these same players would excel with a different coach and system. I keep reading that the Wings system is way different than anyone else's.

Frankly, I wouldn't want any of these players if I'm a rebuilding GM. If I'm a team making a playoff run, I wouldn't want those players either. There's better options elsewhere, even if cheap vets is what I'm looking for.
