Only if you watch the pens feed and listen to their announcer. If you watch the play abbys head was down the whole time and it was actually going up when he was hit. Had he not started raising his head, hit would be much worse.

In my head I'm picturing - "Abdlkader was hit hard, not quite as hard as Konstantinov was hit in that limo."
