Buppy 1,720 Report post Posted March 8, 2014 We need a solid C prospect this draft. I would love for holland to trade up and get Draisaitl. We have loads of quantity in terms of young players and prospects so we dont really need much other than an 1C so he should just make the investment to get one. Unfortunately, this doesn't look like a great draft for centers. Trading up would be nice, but Draisaitl probably goes top 5/6 and I don't think we have the pieces for that, unless we want to talk about trading Pav or Hank (or maybe Mantha). Could be a good time to trade down, possibly grab a couple guys like Bleackley, Fabbri, Ho-sang, De Leo...
amato 3,210 Report post Posted March 8, 2014 That is true. I prefer him as a PF and worry about he C in the 2nd round and in the 2015 draft. I think I like this idea.. if we even have a 2nd rounder. the general consensus seems to be that 2015 is a really deep draft.. there will probably be more potentially top 6 centers available then too. PumpkinEscobar 136 Report post Posted March 8, 2014 Dane Fox from the Erie Otters..not a Center but he's put up 60 goals and from what I seen he's been eligible for 2 drafts and hasn't been picked
PumpkinEscobar 136 Report post Posted March 8, 2014 (edited) I can also see the Wings trading down and trying acquire more picks like usual Edited March 8, 2014 by PumpkinEscobar
Richdg 267 Report post Posted March 9, 2014 You have to balance needs vs talent available. this year there just isn't many top C's available and very few top D. Most of the forward prospects tend to be smaller guys as well. yes we need a C. Most likely not one there for us. Same with D. As for forwards, we have a ton of the smaller skill guys, need more beef. Tuch fits the bill to a tee.

MasterPavel 115 Report post Posted March 9, 2014 Fox has been signed by Vancouver. If we take Tuch in the first and don't make the playoffs then Kraskovsky or DeLeo would be good options in the 2nd.
Richdg 267 Report post Posted March 11, 2014 Ok how about some 2nd round C options: Kempe 6-2/190 LH maaaaaybe Bleckley 6-1/195 RH maybe Quenneville 6-1/190 LH Gersich 5-11/175 LH Kraskovsky 6-4/180 LH
number9 3,297 Report post Posted March 11, 2014 If we make the playoffs (which gives our 2nd to the preds) and we go deep enough to make our 1st less valuable, I think we can almost guarantee Holly trades his 1st for 2nds 2 wingsfan4795 and nyqvististhefuture reacted to this

Richdg 267 Report post Posted March 14, 2014 I wish I could link on this forum-doesn't work for some reason. Anyway, on nhl.com there is/was a nice write up about Tuch and how his coach raves about the guy. His work ethic and how he is learning to use his size, strength, and power to dominate other teams. Just what the doctor ordered!
number9 3,297 Report post Posted March 14, 2014 [attachment=3702:nic & vlad.png] If only eh? Would have been the best D pairing of all time. Vladdy would have been the yang to Nicks ying. 1 nyqvististhefuture reacted to this

Richdg 267 Report post Posted March 14, 2014 (edited) Thanks Buppy. IMHO he would be the perfect bookend with Mantha. Edited March 14, 2014 by Richdg
Richdg 267 Report post Posted March 16, 2014 (edited) As of today, we will have a 2nd round pick, which could be a young C that we need more of. We are also picking 13th-bad bad number, in the draft. Edited March 16, 2014 by Richdg
Richdg 267 Report post Posted April 5, 2014 Been a week or 2. Just a name for the second/third round. Now.....this is hard. Brendan Lemieux, 6-1/210 LH LW. Very good player. Plays big and physical. Scores goals and willing to go with anyone. Sounds good right? Well....... he is Claude's son. You know.......turtle man! Sins of the father?????
Richdg 267 Report post Posted April 5, 2014 As of today we would have the 17th pick and lose our 2nd rounder to nashville-legwand trade.
MasterPavel 115 Report post Posted April 5, 2014 Won't happen. I wouldn't be surprised if he is taken in the 1st by Colorado. We have a 1st and 3rd. McCann or Barbeshev in the 1st and Alexis Pepin in the 3rd.
nyqvististhefuture 1,002 Report post Posted April 5, 2014 As of today we would have the 17th pick and lose our 2nd rounder to nashville-legwand trade. So basically were trading down again to get back a pick Would have been the best D pairing of all time. Vladdy would have been the yang to Nicks ying. Kinda sad thinkin about what could of been As for this years draft I think well just take the best player available as always but I think well look out for more centermen especially and defensemen
Andy Pred 48 337 Report post Posted April 5, 2014 dont care what round just get Nikita Trymakin the kid is a beast. also a kid worth looking at, his KHL contract is up as well at the end of the season is Dmitri Ogurtsov. of CSKA
PumpkinEscobar 136 Report post Posted April 7, 2014 Barclay Goodrow of North Bay...he's a free agent and has good size for a winger...too bad he shoots left
Richdg 267 Report post Posted April 7, 2014 Goodrow isn't draft eligable anymore. There is a good chance he will sign with us as an undrafted FA. Was at our prospect camp last year and the RW have been keeping an eye on him.
Richdg 267 Report post Posted April 14, 2014 Regular season is now over. We are drafting 16th if the draft is today. The only PO team with fewer points is the Stars. Depending on how we do we could end up no higher than 15th. 30th would awesome! Not that I am holding my breath.......
dirtydangles 1,328 Report post Posted April 14, 2014 I'd like Kempe at 15. We need a strong C prospect going forward. Already 6'2 187lbs. He would replace Jarnkrok in the system and be a bigger C to match with Sheahan in the future. The only way he could be a better fit would be if he was a RH player like Calle.
