1/18 GDT: Kings 2 @ Red Wings 3 (Shootout)

Rofl, I'm a huge Gears fan.

Nah, for the Hockey Gods, it'd have to be the retro lancer execution. :)

Me and a few friends have been playing it online a lot again lately since it was free last month, still holds up as a solid MP game.

We really needed this W tonight, even though the Kings got screwed (and i'm gonna hear about it from a big ego kings fan friend of mine tonight i'm sure) it's a victory in the books.

Positives, Howard playing well again, Sheahan has really stepped up and Tatar has about cemented himself in this lineup permanently.

Negatives, still way too many injuries, not scoring enough goals in regulation.

We need more luck going forward until we get some key players back. Otherwise it will continue to be a rocky road.

What is going on?????????? I just got back from a 3 week vacation and the Wings have dropped in the standings, the injury report looks larger than the lineup, and the rest just beat the Kings.

Am I in the twilight zone?

and BTW what happened to Alfie?

Goodness...........

Great summary. BTW, if you get GOW3 we need to do a LGW coop campaign or horde marathon. Edited by TheXym

That's 2 in a row anyways. 3-1 win a week ago you can remind them about.

Actually, The Twilight Zone is the best explanation I can come up with.

Seriously. This season is Twilight Zone. Remember all the angst about being up against the salary cap, can't get the young guns in. Need IR and waivers to make roster spots and now to this.My head is spinning and I thought the flight was bad.

Good game guys!

The more I think about it, the more perfect this win is.

- Richards being the big tough guy, scoring a goal and trying to start something with our goalie...and then being the final shooter in the shootout.

- Kronner's redemption. That penalty was total bulls***. Only right that he should get the equalizer a few seconds later, and on the PP. (We scored a PP goal!)

- Tats getting to salute his father against the Kings a second time, this time at home.

- Our refusal to take any s*** from one of the bigger, better teams in the league.

- Howard getting right up in Quick's grill, telling him he wants the starting job in Sochi.

- Scoring three goals! We scored three goals! (Sort of!)

It's good the Wings got 2 points. They need them.

Kings are my second favorite team so it's unfortunate to see them lose on such an awful goal. Darryl Sutter summed it up, no matter who it was scored on it's embarrassing for the league.

How does a puck go 30 feet in the air into the netting and four officials don't see it? And the bigger question, how does O'Halloran still have a job as an NHL ref? If there's a record for being involved on terrible goal calls, he owns it.

Lolz, Tortorella takes on the entire Flames team. Please tell me someone GIF'd that hallway shot, with his head in the bottom left corner.

You're killin' the buzz, man. (No, I agree.)

I'm becoming a huge Sheahan fan. This guy is good. Wins faceoffs, hard on the forecheck, and seems to have better offensive instincts than someone I expected to be nothing more than a 4th liner.

As for the goal, we deserved a break. A 2-1 loss would have been heartbreaking and frankly undeserved given the effort this team has given without results lately. Make it reviewable for sure, but for now I have no problems with enjoying these 2 points.

Howard has been a boss in his last 3 starts too. Good sign.

Sheahan with a solid 19 mins tonight. Babs likes the kid. Helm who?

If I was one of the injured guys I'd grab my job real fast with these young guns flying all over the place.

Just as interesting to me is that Miller played only 9:09.... less than even Emmerton. Seems odd.... I didn't see him get hurt... did I miss that or something?
