Euro_Twins 4,475 Report post Posted March 25, 2014 Updates from Holland: Datsyuk: “Don’t know what’s next. I’ll talk to the trainers and doctors to see what’s next, but right now he’s still going through the time he needs to give it a chance to heal.” Zetterberg: “I don’t know when he’ll be cleared to skate. I’m told at around eight weeks he’ll be cleared for physical contact. I do know before the end of the season he’ll be back skating, but I just don’t know when.” Weiss: “He had a second opinion. The second opinion was similar to that of the Philadelphia doctor, Myers’ opinion. I think what’s going to happen is he’ll get a cortisone injection, hoping it relieves things. We don’t know if it’s inflammation or if it’s a different issue or if it’s scar tissue. He feels OK going 65, 70, 75 percent, but when he pushes all out he feels pain and when he gets pain he backs back off. He’s been told to push through. He’s pushed through. We’re going to give him another 72 hours and keep our fingers crossed that there’s some progress.” Cleary: “I think he’s frustrated at the lack of … during the Olympic break he did some things and he had a reaction. He got some fluid on his knee, had it drained then he got some more fluid on his knee. He feels better, but nowhere near where he needs it to be to talk about practicing every day and making a comeback.” a few positives, pasha and weiss could be back soon, zetterberg will be skating again in the next few weeks, and cleary is nowhere near returning, all positive things 1 jimmyemeryhunter reacted to this

And cleared for contact around the first round of the playoffs. Like I've said before. All this team has to do is get in. Get Pasha and Weiss back within the next couple of weeks, then Hank and E early in the playoffs and this team goes from broken to rested and dangerous. With no cap come playoff time, they can put a team on the ice that is well above the cap lol.
wings_fanatic 677 Report post Posted March 25, 2014 I don't think u can just ice a team that is over the cap in the playoffs or else teams would actually do that.

Cap does not apply in the playoffs. And teams can't do that on purpose every year. We can do it because we had people on LTIR all season long that kept us under the cap. 1 Son of a Wing reacted to this

Euro_Twins 4,475 Report post Posted March 25, 2014 (edited) I don't think u can just ice a team that is over the cap in the playoffs or else teams would actually do that. what do you mean teams will actually do that? do you expect teams to put stars on ltir before the trade deadline to pick up other stars? they need to be legitimately injured to go on ltir, plus no gm in their right mind will take their stars out of the lineup right in the middle of the playoff push, that is foolish. There is no cap in the playoffs Edit: also no more 23 man roster limit in the playoffs Edited March 25, 2014 by Euro_Twins

The things Cleary put his body through for this team. just remember that (not saying I want him back this year lol) The fluid drain hurts but it’s not unbearable. Respect the Cleary past. Hardcore. Put him in a suit and make him an assistant to Draper or Fischer next year. I’d kiss the guy if I ever saw him, but only after he retires. Anything short of that gets a punch. marcaractac 3,962 Report post Posted March 25, 2014 Hmm everyone is starting to get healthy at the same time all of a sudden. I wonder if Babs had a stern talk with the team docs... Nahh, people said to be coming back seem to be quite on schedule. Couple weeks for Jurco (was hurt march 11). Abby only had a bad cut. Datsyuk started skating after 3 weeks like said
