Didn't realize Toronto was already 5 points ahead of us.  That sucks.

We don't want to be competing for only the 8th spot with all those teams.

Ya but games in hand

It just hit me: we won on a breakaway goal from Darren Helm.

How did Chicago tie it in the third?

Brendan Smith thought it was May 2013 again and passed it up the middle to the wrong team.

I think I could watch that whole game again RIGHT NOW. Incredible hockey. Not the best defense or goaltending by any means, but fast paced, lots of chances, speed, skill, you name it.

Even the shootout was entertaining.

Part of me thinks it's a shame we're not going to face the Hawks more, but part of me knows they'd win 4 out 5. Still, fun games against them most of the time.

Tatar was sick, Ericsson was a beast, Z and Nyquist had a good game, but the stars were Miller, Glendening and Eaves. What work they did for 65 minutes, and then that SO goal by Eaves.

This is what I'm talking about when it comes to this team's potential when healthy. Remove Cleary and Bert, or at least one of them, and insert Franzen/Datsyuk/Alfredsson and those are some good looking lines.

Cleary brainwashed Smith into acting like his old self for a brief second and passing it out center in front of the goal right onto Chicago's stick that cost us the goal.

Cleary Bertuzzi Helm... -9

And the least ice time 9 min each for the anchors and 10 for helm.. Glendening with 19! Helm should be 19 .. Although this was by far his best ever game. Miller even played 19 min holy

Why is it Dan Cleary wearing an "A" on his Red Wings jersey sooooooooooooooooooo much recently?

Edit: I can name 5 that actually earn it more

I don't agree with the Hawks beating us 4 out of 5. Just something about Chicago that brings the best out of this team. I miss the west for that very reason.

On another note, how good was Jurco tonight? It was by far his best game of the year as a Wing.

Eaves really has a nice wrister. skates well, kills penalties, and is a right hand shot we've wanted.

please waive sammy and leave Eaves in. no reason in hell to send eaves down in the future

Terrible turnover by Smith passed it right to a Hawk and he walked in and beat Gus. I think Smith was solid for the most part

Huge win. Great battle from the young Wings. Great game from Tatar again; really great to see him coming into his own. Who'd have thought Helm with the shootout winner over the Blackhawks. Time to start clawing our way back into this thing...

Plus he was so good several years ago with Z and Pav so you know he could score if given the chance.

Eaves has always reminded me of a younger Cleary but with a better shot.

And a pretty good slap shot.
All reasons why I question why they gave the extension to miller and not him.
I get the concern about him staying healthy when the contract was signed.
Now it just seems like the wrong choice...
Franzen- hossa type thing on a fourth line scale.
