Didn't expect to compete tonight, you can't win on a regular basis with your top 3 out, Weiss (I know he didn't produce but he is still better then done others out there and then no Howard. Blame it on no heart and no drive, or we need to trade this guy or that guy but face it.... We were completely over matched, out gunned and depleted. It's not a cop out when it's the truth.

If at least pasha ant back by Friday im going to be pissed

He's not coming back till the Olympics...I hate to call a player selfish, but you have to wonder why what was supposed to be a 1 game absence has turned into 11 after tonight

Couldn't buy a bounce tonight, it happens. Glendening is a point per game player in the AHL and can't buy his 1st goal in the NHL and then kinda scores on our own net.

Hope Abs is ok.

Can't complain about offense with the big guns missing, but both Kronwall and E have played like they're in Sochi already which is absolutely unacceptable

All of our chances - all of our chances - blah, blah, blah, game after game, yet no goals.

Missed chances = choker = loser.

And with tonight's shut out, this team officially becomes an embarrassment to Red Wing hockey. Even the Dead Wings never managed to be shut out 3 road games in a row.

Add to that the fact that Philly felt they had something to prove, and it's absolutely, positively no surprise that we got blown out tonight.

My anger lies with the injuries. It has to stop.

If it makes anyone on here feel any better, the Jets just got 2 quick goals against the Preds to tie the game at 3 and then Weber got away with some usual gooning and the Jets are likely gonna take exception against him in the 3rd. I'd love to see Thorburn level him.

Back to the Wings game. These nights happen. Sometimes you get the bounces, sometimes they all go against you. You replace Andersson and Cleary with Dats and Z, and a few of those bounces may go our way. Watch next game we win 6-0 against the Caps and everyone gets their erection/lady wood back and we all rejoice together. Let's just stop the BS trade Dats talk. Save s*** talk like that for Penguins and Cansucks fans.

Wow....I'm actually out of vomit. I didn't know that was possible. Way to go boys!

Well at least you're comical in the loss. Good to keep your sense of humour.

wow this game is laughable

if we had our 'big 3' available, it'd probably be a different story, but as others have pointed out, the defense is simply not good enough

and, like many others have pointed out, Quincey is the weakest link on this defense; despite his sub-par play he still gets top-4 minutes and seems to drag down whoever he's paired with

if we could #1-get healthy, #2- jettison Quincey and #3- somehow acquire a top d-man, we'd be a formidable squad

the only problems are #1- we can't get healthy, #2- won't get rid of Quincey 'til the off season, and #3- it's really hard to acquire a top d-man

Even a good shutdown rental I mentioned before like Mark Stuart or Brad Ference. They would both fit very well here.

the worst part of it is that the Flyers aren't a very good side. One crap call in the first and our inability to kill off the penalty set the tone of the game.

How the hell they can call DeK for a cross check and then nothing for Grossmans boarding of Abby just about sums up what is wrong with the officiating in the NHL today. Don't get me wrong, you don't score you aint winning but it did flatter Philly.

Absolutely they do. It shows that you're pissed off that the guys you're playing are kicking your ass all over the rink and on the score board. The Wings lose like a bunch of wimps, they take it lying down. It doesn't hurt anything to show some goddamn moxie and be pissed off that you're losing an important game to a conference rival that is going to take an important 2 points from you. And I'm sure someone will say "Well they should be focused on scoring goals... not starting scrums/fights" Well, clearly they aren't doing a good job at the whole scoring goals thing, so do something! Don't roll over and die like they do.

....except that the only guys they should really be upset with are the ones wearing the same color jersey.

Scrum/fight because of some dirty play or something happens? Sure, stand up for your team mate. Respectable.

Scrum/fight because you're getting beat because the other team is better at playing hockey than you are? No. That makes you the kid that throws the chess board because he can't figure out how to win. Not Respectable.

You call tonight 'losing like wimps'.... and then you suggest losing like whining children.

Now we get to hear Babs get grilled with hardball questions by John Keating. Instead of asking him why the Wings PP doesn't have a clue, Keating will ask one of his patented "how" questions - "How big a loss is this tonight?" Keating is as big a loser as the team he covers.

Yeah they had a very rough night. They'll bounce back. The best thing about playoffs is that when you make them, it's a 7 game series. You can drop a stinker 1 night and then win 4 straight to dispatch your opponent. Once this team gets healthy, if we can keep up guys like Sheahan and Glendening, we'll push hard for a spot. Kronwall's been the Z on the back end this season, he's gotta be tired by now.

Dirty play ? Abdelkader gets absolutely grid at not one guy on that ***** built team took an examption or went after the guy. The only one who opened his mouth was Tatar, once of our young guns . Back in the good ol days Downie would have had something to say about stuff like that. This is team is the most boring team in the whole league when they are getting blown out, no emotion no fire..like I said crosscheck, hit, fight and just create energy for the next game but no, nothing. The score is bad but I am more pissed off that this team does not stick up for eachother, to put it simple they are not a bunch ready to go to war for each other.

Kenny Holland and Babcock don't like fighting. They don't seem to care if their players don't stand up for fallen teammates either.

When people wonder why I don't have faith in Holland in the cap era, it's because he continues to struggle and ultimately fail to fill holes left by important veterans. People defend him because we still make the playoffs, but what worries me is that we're largely still a team that can compete because of Datsyuk and Zetterberg, and we're really not going to have those guys playing at their current level if they're even still playing in 3-4 years. And this team has been all too capable of falling apart even when we've had them in the lineup! If Holland can't figure out how to bring in top-end talent before they hit the age of 40, games like this won't necessarily become the norm, but they'll become a lot less irregular. This team will be profoundly more lost than they are now when Dats and Z leave or lose their current effectiveness, and that day isn't nearly as far away as it once was, and the more we struggle in the meantime, the harder it's going to be to sell guys on this team.

And I'm not bringing it up now because we lost 5-0. I'm bringing it up now because we lost 5-0 in a game without Datsyuk, Z and Franzen while most of the guys we've spent descent money on signing for depth the last few years still aren't even in the lineup, while the ones who are playing are generally terrible. Something is seriously wrong when you're spending millions on guys that aren't contributing at all and sweating money and getting cheap when it comes to signing bigger name guys that could make a real difference and be leaders and make guys around them better.

If the Wings are missing the playoffs I do not care if both are replaced. Start the rebuild then and while doing so have some fun like Calgary

11 games is close to almost 3 weeks time if not more, add the fact I think Datsyuk rather go into the Olympics are game speed and game conditioning and not just practice shape. Players always miss more games in a shortened season and it shows a lot more with an older team like us.
