I'm down with firing Babcock. Best coach in the league, but pretty clearly losing this locker room. Yeah, I know, injuries, but the guys who win the Jack Adams are the guys who make contenders out of injury-ravaged lineups (e.g. MacLean last season, John Cooper this season). Even with the injuries we have, we've got enough talent that we shouldn't have to get on our knees and pray for a regulation win every single night. We've become underachievers, and it's pathetic.

Crash for Blash!

Broken Record Statement: Without another top line defensemen ( I really believe we need 2 so we can bench Quincey and Kindl) we have no chance.

Lash is fine as a #6. Not great, but fine. With just an 'okay' top 4 D addition we'd be so much better.

Kronner-E

DD-DEFENSEMAN WITH A BRAIN

Smith-Lashoff

That could work alright. Right now I'm so fed up with Q. Can't take him anymore.

We've known that since Lidströms retirement, also losing Rafalski seems to hurt more than we thought :(

I still don't understand how you lose your top two defensemen (not to mention your #4 in Stuart) and don't bring in a high-end player to help cushion the blow.

I agree. Although I wouldn't fire him, I'd make sure he knew that his stay here with Detroit isn't a guarantee and not feel too comfortable about losing. With the team we have we shouldn't be relying on nail biters for wins and just flat out get blown out in our losses. Losses to Pitt, St. Lou, SJ and Boston all 4-1 this year shows this team lacks guts to come back. When these decent teams turn it up a notch, the Wings turn into little girls. There's a lot of history with this franchise and these 2 win-4 loss sequences are getting played out now. Bring up Mrazek if these two other guys can't goaltend. Where the hell is Lashoff? Grrr.
