A rivalry needs fans who hate each other. Florida has none

I suppose Wings fans could just fight with each other. We're pretty good at that.

Bruins score, 2-1 Blues with half the third left. I'm indifferent to this game, but yeah.

Stupid Canucks. Ryan White scored?! Pacioretty had a hat trick...and he missed on two penalty shots, in the same perid?!

Stupid, stupid Canucks. And Bolts. And Avalanche. And the world.

Kings had better smash the Jackets.

Bruins tie it up.

Why am I the only one posting in this thread?

Katheryn Tappen is all you need on nhl network.

I like her a lot.

Some of the defense just looks slow

I've definitely noticed this. We're supposed to be super-mobile on the back end, but I'm not really seeing it this season.

Jackets up 1-0 early on a PP goal. C'mon, Kings.

Considering how badly the Wings have been playing up until recently, and the fact that they're struggling to maintain a wildcard playoff position... if they can win against Tampa Bay on Saturday, they will be going into the Olympic Break within three points of them for 2nd place in the Atlantic Division. Toronto and Montreal both currently have four points on us, but they've also played more games (and we play Montreal the first game after Olympics).

Hopefully they can come out out they Olympic break healthy and ready to go. If they can put the injury bug behind them, I don't think finishing 2nd in the Atlantic is lofty by any means.

Totally.

Based on points alone, we're actually in very good shape. I mean, 12 points behind the Bruins, considering all our ridiculous struggles? That ain't bad. The issue, of course, is how tight it is, i.e. 90 other teams are in pretty much the same exact position. But I like to think we've been sort of going at 50%, while much of our competition, well, hasn't.

I'm so sick of the Panther games they lack any excitement, I'm just sitting there waiting for the game to end(hopefully with a win but as quickly as possible). On another note Pav looked decent tonight, he's still extremely cautious of contact but that's to be expected with being out for 5 weeks. The most important thing is that he got through the game healthy.

There wasn't a lot of room out there tonight, very chippy game. If we buried our chances it wouldn't have been close.

I give the Panthers credit. They're very fast and good forecheckers. They probably seemed faster because most of the Defense was dreadful.

Idk about you guys but I haven't noticed any big blunders by Quincey lately. He looks solid. I think any unbiased observers would see him as our 3rd best defensemen

Didn't the puck cross the goal line before he got to it though?

The new hybrid icing. The call is blown off if the team beats the other player to the hash marks. It's a race to the hash marks essentially instead of first player to touch the puck. Even if the puck is fired down and the team is clear to retrieve it for icing the refs don't blow the whistle until the player reaches the hash marks.

I'd like to add that the Lashoff penalty was stupid only in the sense that he was pretty much forced to make it by a couple of his teammates. Unless I'm remembering it wrong.

It was uncanny how Mickey predicted that the Wings were gonna take a penalty at the end of the game and Lashoff kept crossing checking a Florida player who was falling over the Wings net. I think Lashoff gets away with first cross checks but he kept going at the Florida player who was out of the play.
