Preds Gm David and Pete Weber hospitalized in Minnesota
Posted 06 February 2014 - 03:16 PM
First Pete Weber:
The long-time voice of the franchise was taken in an ambulance from the team hotel. Broadcast partners Terry Crisp and Stu Grimson were with him. His wife, Claudia, was en route from Nashville.
Weber confirmed the heart attack in a text message and indicated that he is comfortable and out of danger at this time.
Next David Poile:
David Poile apparently got hit in the head with a puck during morning skate at the Wild
Paramedics in #preds locker room; David Poile hit by puck at skate. He walked and sat self on stretcher; black eye, bloody nose, groggy
Poile was rolled out of the #preds locker room on a stretcher. Seemed alert which was good. Sitting up. Just an unreal scene here ...
Poile was in hallway not even on bench. Players were passing boards to boards and a Weber pass ricocheted off blade into David's face #preds
Trotz said it was above the eye, and hoped there was no eye damage. Said "it was a rocket" that hit Poile while he was in the tunnel
Didn't seem to be a ton of concern from the #preds, which hopefully means Poile is OK. Weber was standing over him as he was wheeled out
Poile being taken to local hospital #preds

Both seem to have been lucky, we should all wish them a speedy recover and good health.

Best wishes to both for their recoveries.
The Cities have some excellent medical facilities. They're in good hands.
RIP MicMichSteve. I was fortunate to have called you my friend.

Nashville and Team USA GM David Poile still in surgery as of 20 minutes ago. He's going to need 30-40 stitches. It's an eye socket fracture.will "remain in the hospital overnight for observation and evaluation".

Sucks all the best to both of them and speedy recovery.
May sound bad, that they've been lucky could have been worse
