We ***** when we can't score with Cleary,Bert and Sammy in the lineup, and yet the Russians can't score with Pasha,Malkin,Ovechkin,Kovalchuk,Radulov...bizzaro world :baby:

I think Datsyuk is holding everyone back, he is the common denominator here, i joke of course :innocent:

Great to see Canada switch the lines up, but I have no idea how Kunitz is still in the lineup. This is like Babcock and Cleary situation. MSL deserves playing time over Kunitz 110 / 100 times.

didn't they just crush austria 6-0... why change the lines now?

Just read an article about this. Everyone is changing their lineups today because they've played so much over the last three days. Pretty much every team is using it's reserve forwards and backup goalie in this final round robin game.

So this is basically where the tournament stands going into the final round robin game

#5 Russia - #12 Norway faces #4 in QF
#6 Switzerland - #11 Latvia faces #3 in QF
#7 Czech republic - #10 Slovakia faces #2 in QF
#8 Slovenia - #9 Austria faces #1 in QF

If Canada wins in regulation, #1 Canada, #2 Sweden, #3 USA, #4 Finland
If Finland wins in regulation, #1 Finland, #2 Sweden, #3 USA, #4 Canada
If Canada wins in OT/shootout, #1 Sweden, #2 USA, #3 Canada, #4 Finland
If Finland wins in OT/shootout, #1 Sweden, #2 USA, #3 Finland, #4 Canada

(These are assuming that Canada wins by less than 9 and Finland wins by less than 8)

Test chemistry. Babs changed lines during the Austria game a couple times that way when it comes down to elimination game they know who for sure is playing and who is not. However, Kunitz should be sitting. Nash has been pretty bad too.

I was going to say that it's probably not a good idea to play with lines against a team that's been playing well, in a game that will determine your seed for the medal round. But then I realized I was talking about Mike Babcock. Line changing is the air he breathes.

I was seriously just thinking the same thing. I'm having a lot of fun watching these games. And while I'll be crushed if the USA doesn't bring home the gold, the good thing is that I'll still not feel as terrible as I did at the end of the 2009 playoffs...so there's really no downside.

Hossa is really mailing it in. Tatar's been Slovakia's best forward in this tournament.

well this might have something to do with the fact that Hossa is playing with a broken toe or something like that..nevertheless, I agree that he is trying his best

Last night's the last time I puked, but I'm guessing we did so for different reasons. Chances are, the last time I puked and the last time Patrick Kane puked were for the exact same reason.

So...the OLYMPIC GOLD MEDAL GAME could potentially be decided by a *gulp* SHOOTOUT?!

I thought they would drop the SO as deciding factor after the round robin games, definitely for the medal games at least! *barf*

Get it together, world.

That really is the worst possible way to end a medal game. I don't even get the point of shootouts anyway. Hopefully the gold medal game ends in regulation or OT.

Probably for scheduling and TV reasons. Isn't the closing ceremony the same day? Imagine a triple OT game delaying the closing ceremonies... Nope? I can't either

Lehtonen has outscored a ton of people in this tournament.

Sharp, Duchene, Kunitz, Toews, Tavares, Benn, Perry, St. Louis, Nash, Crosby, Vanek, Parise, Stepan, Callahan, McDonagh, Wheeler, Pacioretty, Semin, Anisimov,Nichushkin, Kovalchuk, Tarasenko, Jurco, Handzus, Tatar, Hossa, Kruger, Eriksson, Zetterberg, Nyquist, Hagelin, Landskog

That's a pretty crazy list

Shall we acquire him to override our D and make that 1st pass out of the zone every time?
