Sexist and distinctly un-Canadian-like. So women's hockey doesn't matter, eh?

Not sexist, they don't even allow hitting, I don't care to watch it if they aren't going to allow the women the same rules the men have, I don't find it entertaining to watch when every brush up is a penalty.

I am Canadian and for the first time, I actually feel bad for the US team.

in 2010 it was easy not to feel bad after hearing the US team placed a Canadian flag in the middle of the dressing room to walk over before going on and coming off the ice. I do not know who came up with that idea but it was not very smart.

4 years later and water under the bridge we meet again. Unlike the round robin game I think the US team played significantly better and deserved this win. But as Don Cherry has said in the past the hockey gods were in Canada's corner. The empty net post to surviving the first minute of OT (how did that puck did not go in?)

So as a typical Canadian, Sorry Eh. See you again in 4 years.

Small correction ... I think that was 2002 in Salt Lake City.

Utah ... go figure.

He's not implying that, but there really is no competition in Women's Hockey, it comes down to USA and Canada every time. Women's Hockey just doesn't matter as much as the Men's for most Canadians, that's the reality. We will cheer them on, but people don't drop everything like they do for the Men. Not sure if USA feels the same however.

Thank you. I'm a fairly regular poster here and I think I'm a fairly level headed and open minded person, so for people to start calling me sexist because I don't enjoy women's hockey is nonsensical. People should know better by now, I hope this is just Olympic tensions built up and not what people actually believe.

You didn't say you don't enjoy women's hockey, you said it doesn't matter. If you leave things open for interpretation, people will interpret them.

Would you make this post again, if the chance was there?

Talk about beating a dead horse. Everyone knows what was said.

He clarified after that when he said it "doesn't matter" he meant "it doesn't matter as much to him"

Let it go...

Don't know about Womens hockey but in terms of Women I think Curling (that Russian team  ) and Figure Skating (Tessa :yahoo: ) are way more interesting for obvious reasons.

As for tomorrow I'm freaking pumped two superb rivalries between the top 4 hockeynations it doesn't get better than that. To best honest I'm getting more and more the feeling the US fans are REALLY underestimating the goliath that Canada is not sure if that's a smart thing to do.

Looking forward to Sindy versus captain Backes

I'll let it go when I well please. I was clarifying WHY there was such an uproar about it TO HIM, so why don't you let it go?

You are correct.... sorry about that. Something bothered me about that game, maybe it was the Canadian media trying to stir it up by posting the women drinking beer and smoking cigars on the ice after all the fans left.... and that has absolutely nothing to do with the US Team.

Here's to tomorrow :drunk:

I'm at work so I can't watch this game, are any of the members of either men's team there to cheer on the women's teams? I think it would be really cool if the guys showed up for a little solidarity.

You keep bringing the same thing up....while we're ALL working. Grasping at straws are we? I watched bits and pieces of the game and snuck out for OT.

Tomorrow on the other hand, the bar opens at noon at the mess and they're getting all the tv's and maybe projectors and a pizza party going for the Canada/USA mens game. So if anyone wants to invade Canada, tomorrow's as good a time as any, cause we're all watching the game!
