Well of course. That's the nature of these deals. They're stacked now but they just potentially subtracted 3 top prospects from their pool. Imagine if we lost Pulkinnen, Mantha, and Jarnkrok right now. Anyway not saying it's a bad move. Right now it's a great move, who knows how the future will turn out.

Never thought Ryan Miller was all that great.  The Blues are a Cup contender, but that's what I thought the last few years until they ran into LA.

I can't imagine how annoying their fanbase will be if they actually win something.  They're already so bad.

I gotta be honest...I've been to St.Louis 3 different times for Red Wing games; wore my jersey at the game each time, and outside of a few comical jeers by a very few - the vast majority of Blues fans are alright in my book.

Now Chicago on the other hand...

They got good value for a guy who was going to walk in a few months anyway.  Stewart and Hitchcock have a history of not getting along, so moving him might be addition by subtraction in their eyes.

Miller hasn't done anything in Buffalo because it's Buffalo.  he can only play one position, he can't make the defense defend or the forwards score.

Howard for Miller would have been horrible for the Wings.

Really?

Acquired in the Ryan Miller trade, Halak may not stay a Sabre for long and head to Minnesota instead, reports TSN's Bob McKenzie.

I've sensed a theme: Halák has a tough time keeping a job with good teams.

I don't even see him being ahead of Enroth on the Sabres' depth chart.

Favourite Ryan Miller moment? That's easy:

Who has ever heard about Carrier before? They haven't given up much also the first is conditional if Miller re-signs OR they at least make it to the conference finals to me the deal is fair and a win-win for both clubs, but the Sabres are running the risk offturning into the oilers = lots of good picks but no veterans to guide them.

To me this kind of feels like what Pittsburgh did last year...

They're rolling and then they seemingly make a move for the sake of making a move.

Honestly I think this move is about getting past the Kings, Quick in particular.

They may not even see them in the playoffs this year but the Blues have had two very good teams the last two seasons but couldn't get past the Kings both times.  In both series a big part of that reason was Jonathan Quick.  He's in their heads.

Headed into the playoffs with Miller should give them the feeling they won't end up losing games where they've outplayed the other team, which is what happened at times against LA.

Is Stewart really better than Ott though?  Both have 11 assists, Ott, works harder, actually back checks, and has thrown 194 hits compared to Stewart's 76.  Stewart is younger, bigger, and has 6 more goals.

Oh this young man has had a very trying rookie season, with the litigation, the notoriety, his subsequent deportation to Canada and that country's refusal to accept him, well, I guess that's more than most 21-year-olds can handle... Ogie Ogilthorpe!

Ott is also a veteran with a good locker room presence something that can not be said about Stewart.

If Ryan Miller behind Bouwmeester - Pietrangelo isn't scary than I don't know what is.

Blues got stronger quick and this in the long run may benefit Buffalo with the picks as they are trying to rebuild. Good potential for both teams, just quicker results for the Blues and I for one think Milker deserves to have a good team in front of him.

I think Stewart has the potential to be a lot better than Ott. Regardless, let's say they're equally valuable, long term value still went to buffalo

This.  The Blues now have a goalie that can steal games all by himself too.
