Why would Helm and Datsyuk being out throw a wrench in the plans? Unless Holland was planning on trading one of them, which is dumb. If anything their injuries make it MORE important we make a move. Maybe an additional move being needed is throwing a wrench into plans?

I just hope he doesn't use injuries as an excuse to NOT do anything.

EDIT: Add me to the bunch who thinks a move might happen. Last year Holland had already admitted we weren't going to do anything at this time on deadline day. If he's still "hoping" to make a move with an hour and a half left, that means we're still in on someone.

after listening to Holland on that interview, it sounds like he has something lined up if the news on Pav and Helm is not good. The guys on TSN seem to think Legwand would fit the bill here and I tend to agree.

Even with all the big names out there, I think Legwand and Visnovsky would greatly improve this team and it wouldn't cost much in return. Legwand could also be re-signed and help beyond this season. Maybe trading Tootoo back to Nashville with a pick would get Legwand here.

He constantly has excuses. When we are good, he says that nobody available is better then what we have. When we're bad he says that as a bubble team he can't afford to make trades.

Wouldn't want Legwand unless it's super cheap. I'd rather pay for Kesler, at least he would help out once we're healthy. Legwand would just be more baggage at that point, which we have more than enough of.
