Man, if we miss out on someone because we were stingy with picks in a bad draft year...
Check out my short e-book on the Red Wings' 1937 Stanley Cup championship entitled: "Nothing Could Keep 'Em Down." Please download it from my profile at Smashwords: https://www.smashwor...ile/view/victor

New e-book: The Spanish-American War: A Brief History. Relatively short, introductory read for casual history buffs and people who want to learn more about a forgotten war that changed America. Available at BN.com, Smashwords, Kobo, and Diesel E-Books right now. Same link as above.

Mike Weaver for a 5th could have been solid too...

A little more than a gas station condom. He's not horrible but he's not great.

Oh this young man has had a very trying rookie season, with the litigation, the notoriety, his subsequent deportation to Canada and that country's refusal to accept him, well, I guess that's more than most 21-year-olds can handle... Ogie Ogilthorpe!

Much better to have him on our team then Quincy or Kindl. Erhoff has wayyyyyyy more offensive upside, and has an absolute cannon from the blue line. We have 3 guys who are very solid in their own end (IE Kronners, Big E and Danny D). Erhoff is not awful in his own end, but he is a significant upgrade for moving the puck efficiently, getting shots through to the net, and helping to run the powerplay.

Nick Kypreos @RealKyper 17m

#Flyers heavy on the blueline with addition of MacDonald. Look for them to move someone out. Meszaros and L. Schenn names are out there.

Well Schenn would be a significant upgrade over Quincey for 3rd and 5th round picks

I feel bad for Lou. After all the crap they put him through they could have at least traded him to a contender, not the worst team in the league.

Mike Gillis is a moron and the way he has handled things, no player will ever want to play for him going forward. Say what you want about Kenny, but at least he shows respect and class towards his players. I feel bad for Lu and all the Canucks fans that lose him after all the crap he has put up with.

Never mind. Lou has a full ntc, and has to supply a 5 team list, so he obviously wanted to go

Fla was one of the teams he wanted to go to last year. Makes sense considering he started his career there

Good rule of thumb is always take an octopus everywhere. Better to have one and not need it than find yourself thinking, "Damn, I wish I had that octopus".

I don't blame him. Even if Florida is a bottom-feeder, the weather is great, he probably has connections there like old friends, and the travel is easier.  Plus, he gets out of the cluster-you-know-what that is Vancouver.  No, he won't be winning the Cup, but he can start over now.

I suppose 2 gold medals without a Cup is enough for him.

To each their own...

And I'm sure he'll enjoy the far less pressure he'll be under playing in Florida.. never thought we'd see a Luongo Thomas tandem (even if it ends up lasting for just a couple hours)

I believe his wife is from Florida. Don't they say something about a happy wife.........

"When the cast comes off, I ask my doctor, 'Have I recovered so I can play the violin?' The doctor says, 'But of course you can play the violin.' I say, 'Wow, this is great. Before this injury, I could never play violin at all. I must break the other hand so I can play guitar.'" –Pavel Datsuk on breaking his hand
