I woulda have a pick and prospect for vanek or moulson. Would be a lot more help then this old useless legwand. Needed a dman. Did not help the team much got a center to fill in the 3 we have injured. I rather have Andy first line center. Hopefully we miss the playoffs. Holland fail

He's 33, has 40 points on the season which puts him 2nd overall on Detroit in totals behind Zetterberg. Not sure where the unfounded anger about this move is all about. I don't see Andersson finishing 40 points total by the end of the season.

Bets on how many games til legwand gets injured? I say 3

He's been pretty healthy for the last few years... so if he does get injured... I'm thinking we might be cursed.

Imma let you finish, and your cap numbers are all good and all that, but imma let Kenny figure it out. Kenny's cap numbers were the best cap numbers this year.

Who says? If we are giving up a second or third round pick, Mantha stays right where he is.

Sorry, pure speculation on my part. I just imagine the generic "prospect" label to trades of this caliber means a top prospect and not just a pretty promising one.. just my opinion, and if that's the case, I'd rather welcome legwand and hold onto Mantha.

NEW: Thomas Vanek dealt to a Montreal for a 2nd and Sebastian Collberg.

If this is true I`d guess Snow`s days are numbered

He BETTER be fired, he gave up a #1, #2 AND Matt Moulson for Vanek and now has neither player.

Legwand is a natural center and much, much better defensively than either Vanek or Moulson. That's probably a big part of why we got him instead of the other two. Vanek and Moulson would definitely be rentals. But I can see Legwand re-signing if he doesn't want too much money.

At the same time though, I don't see how Weiss and Legwand can both be on the team next season if Pavel/Z/Helm are healthy.

IF we're that stacked at Center... we can trade one and some prospects for our much needed D-man in the offseason.

Gillis versus Snow who will get fired first? After this deal for a good Winger it has to be Snow right?

Wang has no understanding of what a good GM is... Snow is probably safe.

i would say that Legwand will re-sign with us where as the others will test the UFA market in the summer.

He has waived his NTC to come to the Wings so that tells me he wants to come here.

He probably wants to come home.

Collberg, 20, was Habs 2nd round pick in 2012. Plays for Frolunda in Swedish League.

Pierre LeBrun @Real_ESPNLeBrun 2m

According to @GMillerTSN, Preds get Patrick Eaves, a prospect and a 3rd-round pick for Legwand

So we could have had Moulson or Vanek by the looks of things.

Yeah. We could have given up prospects and picks for these guys that are going to go to free agency. Vanek who apparently is going to Minny and Moulson who's really is no great prize.

We need D. Obviously, the price for Erhoff and Edler was too much for anyone. Legwand is fine. Helm, Z, Datsyuk, Weiss all injured - we need a C to patch up the boat for a while, but without giving up too much (hope it wasn't too much)

Good luck in Nashville Eaves, probably will get more playing time there.

Curious to see who the prospect is but I like the deal as it sits.
