I wonder if it would be weird for Stevie to be the boss of people that used to be his bosses

But srsly. I'd hate having The Captain as our GM. I'd want a guy who I don't have to feel too bad about railing against.

Maybe Ryan Martin is being groomed.

Until Yzerman wins something at the NHL level I say he's not good enough to be the GM here.  No cups, hit or miss on the playoffs, and often quite dubious with his contracts.  Lot's of things to not like about Stevie as a GM...and nary a Stanley Cup to make me over look them.

Dubious contracts make him not good enough to be here? Our current GM is good enough to be here and he signs Samuelsson with NTC, keeps signing Cleary, and gave up a 1st rounder for a retread Quincey. I think Stevie is doing a pretty good job down there, especially with what he got in return on the St. Louis trade.

Yzerman and his ability with TB is the deal. If he wins the cup with then he will be welcomed here in open arms

Only if he brings Stamkos with him…..

Seriously though, I don't think KH is going to hang them up for a while yet

Holland would just be moving up and become VP of hockey operations while Yzerman runso the team as GM. If the Wings are missing the playoffs questions will start to come up, so you never know. This team has gone from an annually powerhouse to good to barely a playoff team I don't think our ownership is happy with that.

Stevie would be a great choice in terms of rebuild
