Even the 7-4 win showed how bad the D is and the goaltending. You cannot give up 4 goals a game a expect to win. They scored 8 goals the last three games, but gave up 11. I see my Franzine came back to play. Knew he couldn't sustain it, but he isn't the only one.

who said it? I hope Dats a Z enjoyed their Olympic experience. Euro's will never put the NHL ahead of the Olympics.

That's why Nick and Z won Conn Smythe trophy I guess.

Red Wings better start getting better or we won't make the Playoffs we've got 17 Games to make it. Even if we do we may not get past the 1st Round. Ken Holland should have got Martin Brodeur a Defense-man and a better Center man. We could have got all three. Cause I've seen teams who barley give up anything for some of these Big Named Players. It's all about them keeping the Drift Picks. I'm sick of the way Ken Holland does business now days. He needs to keep his promise and Retire leave. Let Steve Yzerman be the GM or someone else who will do the job and give this team a chance at winning. Ken Holland is the GM you want if there's no NHL Salary-Cap. Maybe someday the NHL will get rid of that and the Shootouts and go back to Old Time Hockey!

I'm not ready to throw in the towel just yet, but time is certainly running out and the deck is stacked against us.

Frustration is mounting, and there seems to be no respite.

I'd hate to see the streak end, but all streaks do come to an end and this year is a pretty good candidate for it to finally happen.

It may be a necessary evil, though, if it makes management wake up and start making better, smarter decisions with the club.

The next few weeks will tell the tale...

Holland has let this team get worse and worse since 2009. He made the choice, that's fine, but has done very little or been very stupid in trying to rebuild this team. He has this off season to make it right, if he says and does all the exact same things he has been doing over the years, then f*** him!

start by trading Jimmy and then throwing the top allowed dollar amount at Ryan Miller. This team will never win with Jimmy.

The biggest thing that bugs me is people thinking we need a rebuild, or this team isn't good enough. When in reality if we were healthy we are good enough to play with the best. Problem is when not healthy we are not going to be good enough just the way it is. The other thing thats really starting to stand out to me is not our goaltending. 3 different goalies are losing games not just one coughing away wins. The problem is D. When Datsyuk, Z, and Helm are in the line up we have defensive forwards to help them out, but when they aren't its a glaring weakness.

I will never give up on this team, never have never will. The thing is healthy we are a good team and I would say top of the conference fighting for first with Boston. Problem is they have stayed healthy all year and well we cant keep less then 5/6 guys off IR.

Early season mis-management ruined what could have been a solid start and since then injuries have piled up. With Nyquist since Day 1, could we have had 2 points more? 4? 6 or even 10? All those OT and SO losses, maybe some of them would have been wins? We wasted time and it's catching up now.

Yes,playing down the kids value to the team caught Holland like a bad karma with 2/3 injured veterans at the moment.

Friday is a MUST win to keep pace. Caps, got the nucks and Devils got the Panthers. They'll more then likely win, Flyers got the Pens so more then likely Flyers will lose. I hate thinking like this but this team has lead us to no choice.

i've been schedule watching like this for 2 weeks now....yes it is sad on my part

Glad I had some work to do and missed the game. Like I've said before maybe a streak end is really needed so the management will finally wake up.

Don't re-sign some of the older UFAs use the capspace to get a puckmoving defenseman and stay the hell away from guys like Vanek.

If it happens please bring inback the captain and let him turn the team around.

Every single game from here on out is a must win because we cannot tie anyone and get in due to the ridiculous amount of loser points the team has accumulated. They have a slight chance to make it, but it's highly unlikely they will go on a long winning streak which is what it will take to get in.

Edit: When is the last time Abby did anything offensively? Game 7 against the Ducks on the breakaway last year? That's what it feels like...

Same, been keeping my eye out constantly. That was a pretty depressing game, especially considering how well the wings played in the first. And now Jurco with a possible rib problem from the jackass (Comeau) who should have been thrown out of the game for his hit on Smitty in the first place. Can anything else go wrong with this team? It truly is so frustrating to watch, as when healthy this team would be a playoff shoe in.

Maybe they'll recall Pulkkinen if Jurco can't go friday.

Was there ever any doubt about this game? CBJ are guaranteed to make playoffs they are hottest team in nhl since jan 1st... And we have no one in our lineup really. Can't believe our injuries and not making playoffs. How can all these guys be out at once for so long it's just so depressing.

It's just disheartening when you got all these injuries and the vets that your supposed to count on take a big dump

Ericsson and Alfie playing some of the worst hockey I've seen all year. Then you got Quincey and Bertuzzi playing better. 1 step forward and 2 back

If missing the playoffs serves some greater good then that's fine by me. Last year I was prepared for the streak to end and I relished the idea of an organizational re-think and a high pick. This year I feel the same way.

BUT you damn well know that Holland will blame injuries. Our big summer UFA signings will be a healthy Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Weiss, Helm, etc.
