3/16 GDT: Red Wings 1 at Blackhawks 4

Hard to be very optimistic with all our injuries, going up against one of the best teams in the league. But ya never know, there's always a chance. If our overall D can hold up we should at least make it a competitive game. If not, it will likely be a blowout victory for the blackhawks.

We could

Look at this in a couple different ways. 1. We play really well, everything click, we bury our chances and Howard stands tall, or we play like the last two games and get destroyed

This game will end up being played in 3 possible ways:

1) Hawks come out and completely expose our injured and mediocre team dominating the game 6-0 or something.

2) Hawks have an uncharacteristic game and the Wings score a lot despite the injuries and win,

3) It's a tight defensive checking game where the first team to score 2 wins.

I personally think #3 is the most likely option because I think Babcock will be sure to implement a defensive minded game plan. I think the Hawks have lost 2 in a row, but they are getting Hossa back tonight. As always, this is a huge game for the Wings need to get at least one point. LGW!

You know, I don't think a win is out of the question, but really do we think that 2 points is the only thing to play for here? (go ahead and feel free to lay in to me here…)

What I am referring to is a momentum builder for the wings, where even if they don't get the full 2 points, they play really good competitive hockey and take it to the Hawks?

I really really really think we need 2 points, but this team has struggled so much with consistency. The least we can hope for is a good bounce back effort after a lacklustre game vs the Oil.

Edit: Loving the 4 captains in the graphic btw.

I don't know what its all about, but the Wings always play the Hawks good even with injuries. It'll either be a close game with us winning or we'll get blown out. Either way I'm sure our boys will be ready at puck drop. Cross fingers.

On a side note anyway else hate Sunday night games?

Tootoo and more Tootoo. hope he gets 2 goals and 2 assists!! That's my reality. Never say never, always go out there intending to win... no other options need to be considered!!

GO WINGS!!!!

And punches Patrick Sharp into early retirement!

Was just browsing stats and noticed that Nyquist is producing at something like .780 points per game. Hossa is producing at .870. That's not too far off. Not bad for a rook. Especially if he can keep it up over a full season.

Jimmy is probably going to have to steal this game for the Wings to have a prayer. Man, their third line is arguably better than our first right now. Brutal schedule, doesn't seem like any injured bodies are close to returning and the competition keeps winning. Better start stringing some wins together here real quick.

Maybe the Wings can subtle interference their way to a victory.
