From Toronto Star:

Reimer, making his second straight start and fourth consecutive game appearance, couldn’t thwart Alfredsson, though it would be a stretch to blame Toronto’s No. 2 goalie — de facto No. 1 in the injury absence of Jonathan Bernier — for the outcome. Yet coach Randy Carlyle came rather close in his post-game comments.

“He was OK. He was just OK.”

The colour rose on Reimer’s cheeks when that remark was passed on.

“He said I was just OK? I thought I was good. I don’t know if I was great and I would like to be great. I thought I made some good saves when I needed to. That third one, you want to make a big save for your team there. Unfortunately it wasn’t the case tonight.”

The intrigue mounts: Will Carlyle have the nerve to start Marlie call-up Drew MacIntyre on Wednesday night or go back again to the Reimer he so casually wrote off Tuesday night — assuming Bernier remains on the DL with his groin strain.

The plot thickens.

I'm not too worried about DeKeyser in the #2 spot. He can handle It. The kid has poise and a good head on his shoulders. It's the other shmucks being promoted to more ice time that scare me.

And one more comment: the Leads fans infuriated me. Not only did they take over our house, but they did a better job at being fans than the Detroit ones. Theyy were loud, engaged and excited. Really made me realize how stale and dull our fanbase is.

Well to be fair the Leafs are known for taking over every arena they play in but despite that you are right. I really believe this team needs to do a better job in getting the fans excited again, be it a big, nasty hit a fight here and there just something to get the crowd into it and create an intimidating atmosphere for the opposing players again. The Joe really has lost it's mojo during the last years it shouldn't be easy to play against the Wings IN Detroit.

Sadly I don't have a lot of hopes for the new arena most of these super modern ones are first class but they aren't encouraging a fanlike atmosphere, as an oversea guy I wish the NHL would be more like our leagues here with all the chanting, cheering, flag waiving :-)

Figured I'd both this here because I didn't know where else to. Pretty awesome article Drew Sharp of the Free Press wrote about how teams can go from zero to hero and back again in the modern age of instant media and social networking. It's particularly about the MSU basketball team, but could just as easily apply to the Wings (I'm giving Babs the benefit of the doubt here) and it's definitely worth the read.

Also, I know I'm guilty of many of the things mentioned in the article, before anybody feels it necessary to point it out. But guess what, so are many of you.

From Toronto Star:

I could not believe this, if the game was reversed last night I would be mad at the defense for all the odd man rushes caused by pitching.

1st goal unlucky bounce of the stick.

2nd goal was a goal scorers goal. He could of had a better angle.

The 3 goal that is the goal that leaf nation was the most mad about is the most funny. If Alfie missed that I would have been mad. he is a goal scorer you don't miss on those shots. this is not Miller of Abby shooting. It was someone who is paid to score goals.

Apparently people are mad that Reimer didn't stop an Alfredsson snipe uncovered from the slot released while he was trying to move laterally

That's an unbelievable ask of a goalie. Squaring to Alfredsson simply means Legwand looks off the pass and picks the short side.

Even if he's square, Alfredsson has all sorts of room.Winging It In Motown@wingingitmotown 4m

Jake Gardiner made a brutal read to try and pinch in a spot where he was in no position. JVR wasn't back and the 2-on-1 developed with speed

Somewhere Eddie Olczyk is nodding his head approvingly.

Which should be a meme for whenever the Wings do something poorly

Maybe the Wings can subtle interference their way to a victory.

Whatever works.

Methinks Carlyle's been hanging out with Enzo.

Not like I had a lot of respect for Carlyle before the HBO 24-7. But seeing that these comments does not surprise me. His bully mentality with his no one plays fair attitude.

When he told his centermen to hack someone after loosing a draw cause you got beat was a sign of his poor sportsmanship.

When your coach or leader is a crybaby, your team is a crybaby.

Stay classy Toronto.
