Boston and Philly aren't supposed to help the Wings, the team can control their faith now. If they get at least 6 points ouf of the remaining games they are in, simple as that.

Very true. The Wings do control their fate at this point.

...but still, any help is nice. Inadvertent or deliberate.

That's not true at all. CBJ is only 1 pt behind.

Right, but if we win tomorrow night like expected, then we go 3 points up on them if they lose tomorrow night. IF they win tomorrow night and we win as expected then they remain 1 point behind us... but the fact is, if we take care of our own business, we will remain ahead of them. Ideally, we win tomorrow night, Columbus loses and Washington loses.

I just don't see Columbus losing to the Blackhawks at home with Toews AND Kane out of the line up, hopefully I'm wrong. But tomorrow's game SHOULD be a win for us.

....so them winning was relevant.

Wow, still gonna come down to the last week of the regular season as was last season. If anyone remembers, the Wings had to win out in last week of the last season because everyone else in the race for a spot did the same.

All being said, I don't think anyone wants to play the Wings if Pasha is close to 100% and Z can play, and Big E is back for the 1st round.

Wait, what happened to all the percentages? Everyone else didn't lay down and die because the Wings won a few games? Not sure if anyone else has noticed, but the teams out of the playoff hunt, as usual, are playing well and have beaten teams they shouldn't have. So tonight's game is not a sure thing by any means.

We still need to win but there's more room for error than last year. We need 7 points as of today to clinch. Less if Washington and Toronto lose. We have a potential 12 points on the table. So we can afford to go 3-2-1 and still clinch.

Don't want to count chickens before they hatch, but that's doable. And we don't have to rely on other teams losing like we did last year.

Bernier out three weeks with an MCL strain. Not good news for the Leafs.

Let's face it, even with him, there wasn't much hope for the Leafs. Reimer and that ahl goalie already ruined everything bernier did for them all year in a span of 8 games.

Jackets just effed up bad. Same with Washington, losing to a team with only 8 forwards for a lot of the night.

Pretty much the perfect night if the Wings finish the Sabres.

If my calcs are correct, the Wings only need 3 more wins now (including vs. Sabres) to clinch playoffs. So two more wins, if the Wings beat Buffalo.

Have to love this time of year. Checking scores every few minutes, logging in for the updated standings, doing the math to see how many possible points other teas have left vs us.... it is GREAT! Not as great as running away with things, but still a ton of fun. BTW if I have done the math correctly-we need 2 more wins and 1 NJ loss to clinch! Then we win the tie breakers on ROW.

Bruins score 2 quick ones, up 4-2 with 4 minutes to go and on the PP.

Looks like the Flyers are about to get involved in the wildcard battle.

Yes,all Bruins in the 3rd and Loui Eriksson with the 4 assists game.
