3/27 GDT - Canadiens 5 vs. Red Wings 4

The Canadiens are a prime example of what might have happened to us if we'd have won half of those shootout games. 7 extra points and we'd be right there with them. Lets hope that Emelin keeps his hip checks away tonight.

Still loving the 4 Captains on the graphics. Simply amazing!

Go Wings!

We won 5 of 13 shootouts, if i'm correct. So winning half just means 2 more points. Which I wouldn't mind, of course. :D

This is a huge game for us (obviously). We really need the Franzen Legwand Alfredsson line to step up and hopefully the kid line of Nyquist Sheahan Tatar keeps up their great play. I'm really excited to see Jurco back in the line-up, he'll add some much needed skill to our bottom six. If we can come away with two points and get Abdelkader back on the weekend and Datsyuk back next week we'll be in great shape to finish the season strong.

Didn't realise it was that high. I guess earlier in the year it just felt like we were leaving so many points on the table, and the majority of those were coming from the shootout losses. But yea, even 2 more points would be useful right now. :)

This needs to be an Old Man game tonight. Mule, stop floating around. Bert, watch the stick, please? Alfie? Come on, really?

Someone not named Nyquist needs to score a couple, for a change.

I throw down the gauntlet to Mr. Streaky Mule. GWG, or go home. I have my shoe ready to throw at you, bud. :glare:

Go, Wings!!!

If anyone has missed this like I have, there's a live stream of the morning skate on now, with Trevor Thompson providing some audio.

Jurco is with Franzen and Legwand (per Khan)

Other lines:

Nyqvist-Tatar-Sheahan

Alfredsson-Helm-Andersson

Miller-Glendening-Bertuzzi

EDIT: Seems they've cut short the coverage and its now ended. Maybe they don't want the Habs to find out what their working on...

I like the line combos, Alfie and Helm have had pretty good chemistry when they've played together, if the ribs don't limit his movement Jurco could open up some room for the Mule to get a few shots off, and of course the kid line has been reelgud, no reason to think they won't continue to be. I expect a big bounce back performance tonight.

I like the line changes, with the exception of Andersson on the wing. I realize, however, that there's nobody else so it'll have to do for now. Can't wait until Abby's back and in that spot though.

I don't think we'll see Andersson out once Abby comes back though. Bert will probably be the odd man out because Andersson is more defensively responsible, and Abby will end up taking Bert's spot as 'net front presence' on one of the PP units. I may be wrong though, but I think what will eventually drive Andersson out of the lineup is when both Abby and Datsyuk are back, assuming that Jurco has earned his place, which I think he has
