The Leafs are riding a serious losing streak; the Wings are playing a team in direct competition with them for a playoff spot; the Wings are playing a team they are entirely capable of defeating.

This one has loss written all over it

So this is why Tatar is facing eviction, right?

Sweep the leg, Wings!

not as much as the lost the last 7 leafs

You're right, but we've gotten so close lately; we are due to finally finish off a win.

Caps losing right now to the Bruins 3-1. Would be a huge win if the Wings win tonight. Get it done!

Is anyone else worried that we're playing a team that's in the middle of a brutal losing streak? I feel like these situations never go well for the Wings. Either way go Wings! I failed to predict Glendening's first last game but he had plenty of chances, so I'm making the prediction again today!

If it is the middle of their losing streak, we have nothing to worry about :)

Looks like the hockey Gods are smiling down upon us with the Leafs, Jackets, AND the Caps all losing when we desperately needed them to. No doubt about it, tonight is by far the biggest game of the season.

Someone needs to tweet this to Tatar and dare him to celebrate his next goal like this.

"If I can be totally honest, it's not a lot of guys you get impressed by. Actually, it's no one else but him. From the bench, to see what move he makes -- you're like, 'I wish I could do that.' Sometimes you sit on the bench and just think, 'wow,' and you look over to the other bench and they sit there and shake their heads, too. He has great, great skills. I'm probably not going to play with another player who has the kind of skills he has." Mikael Samuelsson on Pavel Datsyuk

 9 I believe with Tinky Winky flubbin' around in the back.  WTF dude?.....we all love you!  Babs and Kenny are great musicians if they make the kids move like that.

Thats great, I didn't even notice that until you said it, had to go back and look and there it was. How did I not catch that the first time.

NHL Network (radio) just blasted the Wings management.

Some caller they were talking to brought up Babs for being in the running for the Jack Adams. The host immediately wrote it off, saying Wings management have done an absolute terrible job with getting in successors for Lids, Ralfs, Datsyuk and Zetterberg and that Howard is awful. States after next year when Dats and Hank are bordering retirement, the Wings are looking at a long playoff dry spell.

Agree with him for the most part.

Who's "tinky winky"?

Riley Sheahan. He was pulled over driving "Super" drunk wearing a Tinky Winky Telletubby costume a few offseasons ago.

If I had a dollar for every "expert" who claimed the Wings were in for a long playoff dry spell I'd own the team.

The most amazing thing about that photo is you didn't even have to Photoshop it.

Hey, I'm loving Nyquist and Tatar (the others way too early to tell)......

The question is, do these guys have the talent to be sufficient replacements for Dats and Hank when they're gone?

This is going to be a huge game for both teams who've had their backs against the wall. I'm expecting it to be a pretty exciting one! I hope the Wings will be able to take advantage of the Leafs who played last night and fell to the Flyers 4-2, but we've seen such teams play harder against a rested Red Wings team. Here's to a huge Red Wings victory!

Red Wings 4 (Nyquist, Franzen, Tatar, Glendening)

Leafs 2
