Monster is awful. The Pens have about 15 shots and three have gone in the net. Sure, he won games the first half of the season, but his numbers aren't good at all after the new year.

Wings have controlled this game and then that goal goes in. Howard would have six pages of posts if he let that through.

Yet people wanted to anoint him the starter and drop Howard for a bag of broken sticks a month ago lol

Haven't been posting tonight, but has any of the bipolars said Monster has ended the season for the Wings?

Anyway, if they don't score in 10 minutes and have a bad game versus Carolina, the season could be in a dire situation versus St Louis.

Gus's struggles don't negate Howard's struggles

Except Howard hasn't really struggled lately. Everyone wanted Monster to start because he was winning games, even though his numbers weren't that great. Jimmy has been playing much better recently and winning games in the process.

That third goal tonight might cost the Red Wings a shot to clinch in a game they deserve at least a point.

There are higher expectations of Howard as the starting goalie, I think that's why Monster gets more slack around here. He's done his job as the back up, he hasn't been stellar but he isn't expected to be. You expect strong and consistent play out of your starting goaltender, and Howard being in that role and him being inconsistent and having such a rough first half contributes to a lot of the ongoing hate towards him.

I'm not a goalie basher or Howard hater, it's just been my observation this season.
