Horribly embarrassing. I don't think I've ever seen the Wings play this badly. Stupid is the only word. No-look passes, terrible goaltending, bad decisions.

I hope the boos don't mess with the minds of the rookies who were all amped up before the game started. They need to be resilient. But holy hell this is bad.

Sure didn't play like they were amped up.

That was awful. Absolutely awful. Nothing is clicking. Nothing.

I'd be elbowing Euros too if I knew that nobody on the other team would do anything about it.

If the other team had McGrattan, I probably wouldn't be elbowing anyone.

If we continue to get outworked and physically overmatched by Boston, maybe Ken will realize that we need some physicality on the roster. Guys like Andersson are completely useless.

Howard did his job stopping the breakaway. In that situation the goalie's first thought isn't "where is the rebound going to go", it's make the save and prevent a goal. If you have competent defenders in front of you, the rebound is cleaned up or any bodies in front are taken out of the play.

That was the fault of Lashoff and Kindl playing like dumbasses, Kindl LITERALLY just stood next to the net and watched it happen.

The goal was the fault of a bad line change and awful defense by the horrible 3rd pairing. This goal alone, and not reflecting his performance in game 2, was not Howard's fault.

Franzen will be 35 next year. The young guys aren't playing well now, but look at the leaders they have in front of them. These youngsters at least have upside.

Franzen won't become better in the future, nor will he magically play harder after turning 35. He needs to be moved, even though his stock is very low now.

Franzen for McGrattan?

Even completely outplayed, all they had to do to still be in the game right now is not be stupid, but apparently they are incapable of accomplishing that.

Stupidity deserves losses and that's exactly what they'll get for it.

Howard has to stop that first goal...this is the playoffs and thats why he makes the big bucks.

And the second...no reason, he should have given up such a big rebound on a one handed slide of the puck in to his pads.

Mick's angry. At one point he called Ken out for being "too kind" and saying they were just bad.

Yeah, there's no sugar coating when it comes to Mick.

Even Boston guys are in disbelief we are playing this bad. They seem legitimately surprised how bad we've been.

There is a man who can help us. A man without whom we haven't won a playoff series since 2004.

At least Dano's 50 year old knees would be skating as best he can, competing and being physical. That's the sad part. And really I'd take Dano or Bert over Andersson.

It all boils down to this: Boston is just better. MUCH better.

Exactly. People need to take the homer glasses off, and set their emotions aside. This team at this stage in its growth is nowhere near as good as Boston. Hell, probably half of our lineup tonight started the season in Grand Rapids, and not just started the season there, but likely would have finished it there if its not for all the injuries. Theyre young... its called growing pains, we're not used to it because of the steady line of vets we've rolled through here... its a changing of the guard in Detroit... We're not as good as we like to think, we've been spoiled. It's going to happen all over again though as these kids get more experience, and size, we're going to be that deadly team again, especially up front. On the back end, the D really needs help, it needs a solid vet.
