dirtydangles 1,328 Report post Posted April 23, 2014 Ugh I am so worked up right now. I can deal with the wing playing hard and losing - but this is just stupid. The Bruins aren't even sucking them into their antics - they are just getting flat out outplayed. This is just so unacceptable. The excitement was just crushed with that first goal and then we ran around like a chicken with our head cut off. 1 Detroit \# 1 Fan reacted to this
Nightfall 871 Report post Posted April 23, 2014 Howard has to stop that first goal...this is the playoffs and thats why he makes the big bucks. At this point, I would put more blame on the lack of goal scoring. Kinda hard to win games when you only score 1 goal per game. Heck, today we have nothing and only 3 shots on goal. Lets put it this way, if Howard was allowing 5 goals and losing 5-4, I would agree with you. *cough cough* Lindback

Dabura 12,207 Report post Posted April 23, 2014 I think Kindl and Lashoff need more minutes. Seems like Babs is barely using them. Throw a case of beer in there and it's a done deal. I'd consider it even without the case.
dirtydangles 1,328 Report post Posted April 23, 2014 Someone should put some firecrackers in Franzen's jock during the intermission - see if that wakes him up.
VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted April 23, 2014 If we win, it could be a huge turning point for the series and build confidence. We have to beat Boston to feel like we can beat them. If we lose, I feel like this could be a repeat of the 2001 LA series. We're not the higher seed or anything, but in a "last straw" sense. Howard could be gone (I'm not a Howard hater) for a proven playoff performer. The rest of the roster was going to change anyway in the summer. But is Babcock really playing Kindl and Lashoff as much as I think? Or does it just seem like they're out there all the time because they're screwing things up really bad? 1 roboturner reacted to this

dirtydangles 1,328 Report post Posted April 23, 2014 Honestly our biggest problem is not being able to ice 3 solid d pairings. Kindl - Lashoff has been so bad - every time they are out there the Bruins kill our momentum and swing it their way further. Kindl just has the hardest time making the simplest plays - just keeping the puck in at the line he can't even throw it deep along the boards without ******* up. We knew that going in, and nothing's changed. He can't let in softies. Can't happen. That we're not generating offense just hammers the point home. Time for him to earn his big fat contract. 2 Nightfall and roboturner reacted to this
AtomicPunk 296 Report post Posted April 23, 2014 Passing to a player flat footed, no speed, no passes on the tape, even when there is time to make it crisp. It's chipping and chasing and running around, no plan, no organization, just running clock, no threats. I am ashamed after that period. I expected it to be tough but that was inexcusable. I hope they wake up for period #2.

Nightfall 871 Report post Posted April 23, 2014 True but those goals are deflating to our young guys, it should not be, but it is. I will agree with you on deflating goals. As a goalie, I know that is a factor. If we are going to expect Howard to play every game and get lucky like game 1, its unrealistic. 1 roboturner reacted to this

Split Kindl and Lashoff up. I'd say Lashoff is the more reliable of the two, so what about something like: Kronwall-Smith Dekeyser-Lashoff Quincey-Kindl And then Babcock just keeps Kindl off the ice as much as possible?
