Kings are looking impressive once again. The year they won the Stanley Cup was amazing. That was probably one of the most impressive runs of all time. Going up 3-0 in the first three series was something you don't see often. They're really the only hope of knocking off the Blackhawks. And the Ducks are showing their true colors, Perry & Getzlaf are relied on too much and don't have the depth to go all the way. Anyone but Pittsburgh, Chicago or Boston, please. Go Kings!

Well to be fair the Ducks really aren't that bad of a team it's a combination of superior competiton and playoff coaching by Boudreau. The guy doesn't have his regular season coach label from nowhere.

Kings - Bruins that would be a final for the ages hopefully it happens.

Really impressed with the way the Kings have played thus far. Plus, they're basically the only team left that doesn't have any players that I can't stand haha. Always liked Sutter as a coach as well. Also, I've been very impressed with Alec Martinez. The guy has really stepped up his game in this series.

They actually went up 3-0 in all 4 series that year. And right now they're looking a lot like they did that year Edited by wingsfan4795

0 shots for the ducks in that 2nd period what!?

Weird game.

Quick was fine, but as Roenick put it, Sutter was basically saying "you're gonna play like that in front of this guy? I won't subject your goaltender to that crappy of play."

They apparently got the message, with the zero SOG for the Ducks in the 2nd.

Gibson hasn't had to do much. Fowler and Getzlaf have made bigger saves than he has all night.

Ugly hockey overall though. It's like clutch and grab era out there.

One has to wonder if Kenny would have done this in the first round with Mrazek what would have happened...

Oh well, being so damned conservative doesn't always work.

We would have lost in 5 games. It wasn't a goaltending issue, it was a goal scoring issue

Wait, which situation are you referring to, Gibson over Hiller or Jones over Quick? If the former, the Ducks are an elite team and Gibson is the #1 goalie prospect in the world, so I dunno if we can really relate. (For what it's worth, the Kings had Gibson beat at least twice, but his teammates bailed him out. Specifically, Kopitar's wraparound which Fowler had to stop and that one where Gibson was dead on the ground and Getzlaf - who's become one of my favorite players - stood tall in net.)

As for Quick-Jones, my armchair theory is Sutter learned from the Sharks series that if the opposition is causing problems for Quick in his kitchen and he's showing signs that it's throwing off his game, you remove him from the equation right away and then say whatever you have to say in your pressers to convince people that it's not about Quick at all, it's 100% about galvanizing his teammates, who are supposed to be going to war for him in the defensive zone but were, obviously, not getting it done. So, pretty much what Roenick said, except I do think Sutter was protecting Quick and that that was actually the primary motivation. I'm not sure any real parallels can be drawn between all that and our Boston series. I suppose there could've been more to the whole flu thing than we were led to believe.

Gibson > Mrasek it's not even a discussion Gibson just absolutely stole the show in the world juniors and then went on to improve his game. He may not be ready yet but once he is this kid will be the next BIG starpotential goaltender.

It's one game in the NHL. Not discrediting Gibson because I like him but it's again one game.

I'm not saying he will be the starter or great at the moment, guy for sure needs more time in the AHL. Boudreaus is playing a difficult game here, if Gibson gets blown out today does he go back to Hiller or Anderson ?
