I don't think Krug is needed. We have loads of LD players already and considering he is undersized he would be set up for failure on our team - Boston has loads of big bodies around him so he is less exposed and doesn't get run as much. Krug on our team if we played boston would be destroyed by boston forecheckers.

Agreed. He's a similar player to our man Almquist. Who is already being branded as being "too small" to play in Detroit.

Krug is a much better skater.

Oh this young man has had a very trying rookie season, with the litigation, the notoriety, his subsequent deportation to Canada and that country's refusal to accept him, well, I guess that's more than most 21-year-olds can handle... Ogie Ogilthorpe!

Hi

He can love us all he wants, Boston owns his rights. Unless Boston doesn't want him, Krug is theirs until his first contract post 27 years old comes to an end.   He just isn;t old enough to be UFA. RFA means he isn't under contract, but Boston owns his negotiating rights. UFA means anyone can go for him.   You answered my question, almost directly, but I'm going to pose it anyway: How is UFA calculated?  By MLB, it's service time (seasons accrued).  By NFL, it's the end of a contract with at least two years of service time.  Is the NHL straight 27-years-old when the contract expires?
27 years old, or there are other ways based on age vs. NHL time to help keep people from being buried in the minors forever. http://www.wingingit...e-3-free-agency
