Sobotka wasn't paying attention.  You need to keep your head on a swivel and be aware.  Abdelakder also needs to recognize that his head was down and give up on the hit.

Oh this young man has had a very trying rookie season, with the litigation, the notoriety, his subsequent deportation to Canada and that country's refusal to accept him, well, I guess that's more than most 21-year-olds can handle... Ogie Ogilthorpe!

Pretty bad hit. I never thought his hit on Lydman was bad even though he got suspended, and didn't see video of his earlier knee in the tournament, but hopefully he cleans it up. And please god I hope this s*** doesn't make him hit less, that's all we need is a gritty player playing like Andersson.

BULL s***!!!!!! Those that think that was a dirty hit, grow a pair! That was a perfectly fine hit. Didn't leave his feet, no elbow, went straight at the guy. Not Abby's fault that the dumba$$ dropped HIS HEAD in the slot area. As a defender you are SUPPOSED to level offensive players in the middle of the ice WITH the puck to protect your goalie. This shouldn't have been a penalty, and the Czech player was a classic example of guys not knowing how to protect themselves.

But then again we are talking about Europe and the wussified version of hockey that they play.

LOL....talk about timing...... Prust does worse to Stephan and is still playing in the game.

His head was down well before the hit and it could have been avoided. Like I said, both are at fault there.

Principal point of contact is definitely the head, it's an ugly hit no doubt.

He has his head down because he was shooting the puck and was focusing on the goal; what is he suppose to have, those side sonar sensors installed they have on vehicles now?

I think it was body on body mostly only reason head was involved is cause it was lowered.

Suh got the fine

So if I understand this correctly, Abdelkader hit Sobotka so hard that it even gave Jay Cutler whiplash so the league fined Suh for it? Just let them play, dammit!
