haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted May 24, 2014 Plugov? Honestly it's nice he's getting to play somewhere, and even better it won't be with the Wings. Sounds harsh but he clearly didn't have a future with the team. I'd rather they call up someone with the potential of making the lineup rather than use a player purely for spackle. 2 Jesusberg and dropkickshanahans reacted to this

PavelValerievichDatsyuk 1,935 Report post Posted May 24, 2014 During the Olympics, one of the russian former wings (I think it was Larionov) was talking about how he wanted to bring a team to Sochi. I guess he succeeded. Since it's a new team I assume it will be starved for players. Emmerton could actually be a "top" player for them. Anyway, he'll get to enjoy the beach life and Emdog can pick up a few stray dogs.

Dabura 12,205 Report post Posted May 24, 2014 Personally, I think it's great that fringe NHLers don't necessarily have to be remembered as, well, fringe NHLers. We take for granted how good the Cory Emmertons of the world actually are. The simplest correct way would be Emdogov (Эмдогов) Sounds very strange in russian though. I was hoping you'd chime in, Rus! e_prime 1,936 Report post Posted May 24, 2014 I cant believe that he was the wings' top pick that year. Pathetic 2nd round. 41st overall. I cringe looking at some of the names that got picked "right afterwards," but at the time Emmerton was in the top ten of central scouting's NA skaters and not the only one in those top ten that didn't make much of a dent in the NHL. You can do that with any draft from any team in any given year. When you're trying to project where an 18 year old kid is going to end up 5 years later, it's a crap shoot, even in the top 5 overall. 1 haroldsnepsts reacted to this
