If the rumors are true of Thornton, Kesler, and Spezza all being on the market, it will drive the price down. Fewer teams competing for the same resources. Basic econ guys. This could work in our favor if Holland..........nevermind......

Yeah it would be nice if Holland would make a bold move here. However Rich, any move for a Thornton, Kesler, or Spezza would mean no Tuch.

You could give them Franzen, Toots, and a prospect for either of those guys and it would be alright with me. We're paying Toots 2 mil to play in the minors and Franzen hasn't played good hockey since 2010.

There no value in a guy (Tootoo) that the team has publicly stated they're going to buy-out. Teams will just wait to sign him afterwards, should they have any interest.

I honestly feel as if Anaheim has the best chance of landing Kesler. It seems like Vancouver wants prospects, but also center who can help them right now. Not to mention, Anaheim has an extra 1st round pick. If Vancouver is offered a package of Bonino, Smith-Pelley/Etem/Rakell and a 1st, that's pretty much more attractive than anything Detroit would be willing to offer for him.

The only sticking point between the teams would be trading with a divisional rival, but Anaheim is more well equipped to trade for Kesler at this point.
