SwedeLundin77 460 Report post Posted June 7, 2014 The price tag will still be too high, unless they are willing to take Franzen as the main piece. 1 whitewolf406 reacted to this

Richdg 267 Report post Posted June 7, 2014 If the rumors are true of Thornton, Kesler, and Spezza all being on the market, it will drive the price down. Fewer teams competing for the same resources. Basic econ guys. This could work in our favor if Holland..........nevermind...... 1 amato reacted to this

However Rich, any move for a Thornton, Kesler, or Spezza would mean no Tuch.
Hutts11 3 Report post Posted June 8, 2014 You could give them Franzen, Toots, and a prospect for either of those guys and it would be alright with me. We're paying Toots 2 mil to play in the minors and Franzen hasn't played good hockey since 2010.
Jesusberg 1,256 Report post Posted June 8, 2014 You could give them Franzen, Toots, and a prospect for either of those guys and it would be alright with me. We're paying Toots 2 mil to play in the minors and Franzen hasn't played good hockey since 2010. There no value in a guy (Tootoo) that the team has publicly stated they're going to buy-out. Teams will just wait to sign him afterwards, should they have any interest. I honestly feel as if Anaheim has the best chance of landing Kesler. It seems like Vancouver wants prospects, but also center who can help them right now. Not to mention, Anaheim has an extra 1st round pick. If Vancouver is offered a package of Bonino, Smith-Pelley/Etem/Rakell and a 1st, that's pretty much more attractive than anything Detroit would be willing to offer for him. The only sticking point between the teams would be trading with a divisional rival, but Anaheim is more well equipped to trade for Kesler at this point. DickieDunn 2,571 Report post Posted June 8, 2014 Tatar and a D prospect, plus a first might get it done. I'd rather not send Nyquist or Jurco out. Of the other young forwards, those three and Mantha are the only ones who would have much value.
Red Wing 4 Report post Posted June 12, 2014 He's been regressing for a while now and I don't think a change of scenery would turn him into the 70 point producer he once was. I'll say no.
