According to bleacher report Washington or Minnesota for niskanen.

How the hell can Minnesota afford Suter, Parise, Vanek and Niskanen? That would be over half their cap on 4 players.

We could do a lot worse. We could trade Tatar for potential and have Myers turn out to be a taller version of Brendan Smith. Forever a bonehead.

If I'm going to take a gamble on talent, I'll bet on Sproul. He doesn't cost me anything to acquire.

Myers has had his issues, but he's not the first player to have issues. (And playing for the team and organization he plays for does matter in trying to establish how good he really is and how good he really could be.) You're talking up Tatar when he's had one good season in which he faced relatively easy competition and got tons of o-zone starts and pretty much had zero real expectations weighing on his shoulders. He and Jurco are still largely unproven, and their trade value may be at all-time highs.

I'm not saying I'd necessarily pull the trigger. Myers' contract scares me. But I'd consider it. I love Sproul and genuinely believe he's a future #3 or #2 or maybe even #1, but, realistically, he's at least a couple years from being a guy who can make a difference.

As far as I'm concerned Holland has done the best job he could unless he trades away a young player for garbage. Free agebts don't want to come here? Fine build a winner from within then. Draft well. Develop even better. All things he has oversaught durring his tenure.

And then trade them away for washed up centermen for a 5-game playoff run.

At what point does Babs call Kenny reminding him what he said at the end of the season? If this is how it's gonna be I don't blame Babcock, or anyone else (including core players) for wanting to leave.

I'm starting to think Kenny maybe kinda sorta wants Babs gone after this season. Blashill ascends, Babs goes somewhere where the GM actually listens to him. Both parties win, I guess.

Absolutely right. And we're not paying either one of them (Jurco and Tatar), 5.5 million dollars a season while they work on living up to their potential. We're also not giving up good assets to get them either.

Their potential costs nothing to nurture. Myers costs a lot of cap space, and some real good assets.

I've been checking this to see if this day was all a bad dream.

It isn't.

I expect a rash of BS worthless signings to make us try and forget that nothing happened. And the return of Cleary.

I'm out.

It must be really easy to live life with such low expectations. I'm truly envious. And I'm only being half-sarcastic, which is what's really sad.

"Not everyone signs on July 1st guys...c'mon...Kenny Has A Plan!"

Well, at least you slappies cannot say "its not even July yet..." anymore...whats the next one in order? It's only training camp? It's only Decemeber? Wait til the deadline?

I'll put my hand up here. It is July, and I'm content actually. Right now, we haven't made a stupidly ridiculous signing to try and get an overpriced, over rated upgrade who would barely help us. This way, we've got a better chance of having more kids contribute and transitioning the team into allowing them to take us forward in the future.

I'm probably one of the few left here who are quietly confident this team will be a lot better than last season.

At this point, as long as Holland doesn't start giving away our good young talent, I can still laugh this off. Yes I hate it, yes we're still terrible, yes it's another year down the drain. But at least there's still hope for some nondescript period in the future when things will be good again.

I'm really finding the humor it in.

But let him trade away one young asset. I'll riot.
