Teams to be compensated for losing personnel to other teams

Today, NHL also approved compensation for a team losing someone hired to be head coach, GM or President/Hockey Ops with another club.
Generally, we're talking a third-round draft pick, and the club doing the hiring will have a window of three years to give it up.

Great news for us.

I like this a lot the Wings are one of the teams, which have given up the most amount of front office talent over the years. A third round pick doesn't sting too much but at least it is some form of compensation, good choice

It would have been great for us about 2 or 3 years ago..who do we have left for other teams to poach?

Wings aren't team Bettman west..

It blows.

It seems no one great wants to come here to play. Because of parity. All the management wants to leave. Because of parity. Chicago either wins the cup every year or makes the conference finals. Because of parity?

A truly great organization like Detroit’s deserves to be looked after better by this league.

If this were baseball, Illitch would just *****-slap Selig for a few hours, and we’d get a non-homoginzed team that reflected ownership’s passion.

Instead, we get a league that not only doesn’t really promote successful Red Wing’s hockey, but actually implements practices that have helped make Detroit worse.

Jeff Blashill. I'm also hoping it's retroactive for at least this summer because then we'll be compensated for Peters too. Especially cknsidering these things happened a week apart.

Lets count the guys we lost...

1 Bowman to Chicago

2 Todd McLellan to San Jose

3 Paul Maclean to Ottawa

4 /5 Steve Yzerman to Tampa Bay and then he took Pat Verbeek with him from GR?

6 Jim Nill to Dallas

7 Bill Peters to Carolina Hurricanes

* Nill or Yzerman can't recall who tried to take Ryan Martin with them when they left too if I recall correctly.

Anyone I forgot?
