Actually, we'll probably be a middle of the pack team again. Woohoo exciting.

Worst place to be in hockey. The Wings are turning into the Calgary Flames. Lingering in mediocrity and Holland is content to keep the playoff streak alive. Honestly, it will never happen, but shouldn't the Wings consider moving Z and/or Pavel? They aren't true contenders and aren't bad enough to get high draft picks to make an immediate impact (or they rot in Grand Rapids for four years anyways). I don't know, after today, I'm at a loss. Feel like it might be time to just tear it down entirely and rebuild.

Obviously I'm disappointing we didn't get better players...but am I the only one who doesn't think Quincey is THAT bad? If Holland can trade for a top 2 defenseman like he said was his backup plan was without giving too much away I'll be happy to have Quincey. He is a serviceable bottom 4 defenseman.

I'm not quite as freaked out as most on this forum. Quincey is an overpay, we don't have much else to do with the money so it won't really matter.

That said, I could definitely get on board with blowing the team up. Trading Z and Pavel would net us some very nice picks/prospects....combine those with our current crop of young players and Detroit becomes a very dangerous team in 3 to 4 years. My biggest fear is that we continue this "rebuild on the fly" (which to date I've generally been supportive of as I assumed FA's still wanted to sign here) and end up as a mediocre team for the next decade.

I think he started to turn it around later in the season. But he will not help the team reach another level and that is what we are supposed to be striving for. We couldn't get it even close to done last year with the team we had, so why the hell are we going the same old played out strategy. If they continue down this path of apathy I hope the fans show their distress by hitting the pockets of this ******* disappointing team..

Holland would trade them for a 2nd and 3rd respectively. Maybe call Dave D. with the Tigers before making any trading decision.

He won't make a deal...he's had chances to make a deal to shock some life into the team yet he will not grab his testicles and make a HARD DECISION that has the best interest of the team in mind

We should definitely consider moving Pav. We'd get a decent return for him and it would help the rebuild a lot. I almost want us to miss the playoffs next year. We're stale. The FO needs a wake up call and missing might give it to them.

This is a broken record, but if Pav and Z have a healthy year and Weiss doesn't turn out to be a bust we have a pretty good set of forwards with the young kids and if we do make a trade we should have a better team this year.

Two seasons ago we came within a single goal of beating the Stanley Cup winners. Last year was s***ty, but look at our injuries we had. We're not as bad as people think.

I defended Holland last summer, the trade deadline, and now... FED UP

get rid of this sack of useless potatoes. He, Quincey and Cleary can go to a beach together and never return. Seriously, not only did he sign the guy NOBODY wanted back, but he gave him a raise to boot, and he was already way overpaid before. Missed out on every free agent?!? EVERY ONE?!? not a single player in the nhl wants to go to Detroit? I don't care what anyone says, Jim was the better choice for GM, look at the things he has done in dallas
