Jersey Wing

Who is YOUR most under-appreciated/unsung Red Wing?

Whatever bro. All I know is that Orr owned him. Hard.

He's got the Eye of the Tiger.

Two best fighters of their era: 1. Colton Orr 2. Andreas Lilja.

Nobody really cares about number three (Brian McWhateverbro).

"This is Brian McCandyass of the Calgary Flames here with a special public service announcement. Kids, don't do drugs. Also, don't get stupid looking haircuts or get pole-axed by Colton Orr. All three will embarrass your mother at church. This is the face of a guy who embarrasses his mother at church. Don't be that guy kids, don't be that guy."

Whoa... Andreas is #2 to no man

Everybody talks about this Lidstrom guy, but as soon as Lilja left this team we went downhill.... Dots connected yet?

Exactly, Orr beat McGrattan exactly as many times as Lilja beat Souray. Two best fighters in Christendom.

But I'm just joshing ya. McLadyparts is a total sweetheart. At the salon, when he and the rest of the gals are getting their hair colored, they really bust each others' guts.

Colton Orr doesn't look like Leonidas from 300.

Lilja didn't have to fight that much cause everyone was afraid of him. Plus Babs doesn't like his Dmen to fight... If Lilja had played wing he would have wrecked shop

Lawl. Please. Afraid he was gonna throw one punch and slip and fall on top of them?

He would've been interesting to see as a forward, though.

Goddammit if I wanted to talk about the Leafs and Flames I would have gone to the HF boards

Lilja >

Haha. Well I think it goes without saying that Lilja the greatest pound for pound fighter in the NHL's long history. But it just goes to show I was right all along. It says a lot about how pointless and idiotic fighting in hockey is when a guy who barely did it was the best there ever was.

Oops...just went there.

Brother, stop living in fear of The Andreas Lilja. Embrace him as the best fighter of all time and you shall be spared of his wrath.

You might say he was the Laimbeer of the Wings during his time here ;)

Ugh I hate lame beer it's like hey I just wanted some good effing beer and all I have is this lame beer why does the universe hate me? Why does the universe hate Andreas Lilja? Why was Dmitry Mironov under appreciated as a Red Wing? Why does bread mold so fast when you leave it out on the counter, and why does that little green s*** smell so bad?

We should all just give up, we'll never have all the answers.

I'd rather have Lame Beer than Lamb Beer. Just sayin'.

Lilja slipped just when he was going to open up in the fight. Moen threw some cheap punches when Lilja was down.

I still call it a draw. Can't give a guy a win when his opponent slips and he throws cheap punches at him.

How come Mironov wasn't embraced like the other Russians?

He couldn't have been worse than Anders "sour face" Eriksson.

What about Jiri Slegr?

Imagine if he had a bad game in 5 of the SCF? If he has two Brad Stuart like moments that cost us the game, then we go back to Carolina in front of that crazy crowd and lose game 6. Then we're in game 7 at home with all the pressure on us. That would suck.

Point is, don't forget Jiri Slegr.

You know, I wanted to see a Downey/Lilja/McCarty line in 2008, but it never happened.

who was your least favorite teammate? If you don't feel comfortable answering that, who was your favorite?

Least Favorite : Keith Primeau, I got along with everyone, we just didnt see eye to eye.

Most Favorite was Ozzie because we grew up together, he has known me the longest. He knows what buttons to push and how to get a reaction out of me. In a funny way.

But as the father figure, we called Papa, Joey Kocur. It wasn't untill he became part of our team in 1997, that just put us over the edge.

I think we really lost a great player when it came to Lapointe. I know the Wings weren't matching that Ludacris contract Boston gave him, but he was being groomed to be the next Captain. Pound for Pound (thanks Mick!) he was the toughest little son of a B in the league. He backed down from nobody. He also could shoot the puck. We miss players like Marty. He may not of been my favorite, but he was missed.

Lapointe sucks, Lilja rules.

Brad Stuart

The guy was a key piece of the 2008 Cup win.

And of the Pens 2009 Cup run. If I ever see Brad Stuart anywhere, I'll do this.......

I liked Lapointe. Good checker, great in the playoffs, cool goatee and the ladies loved him.

Then he went to Boston and robbed them of lots of money.
