And of the Pens 2009 Cup run. If I ever see Brad Stuart anywhere, I'll do this.......

I liked Lapointe. Good checker, great in the playoffs, cool goatee and the ladies loved him.

Then he went to Boston and robbed them of lots of money.

Yes, yes, I know. The Wings lost the Cup because of Stuart. Or was it because of not suspending Malkin? I can never remember which. It surely couldn't have been that they got outplayed by a hungrier team.

By pinning the Cup loss on Stuart, you're kinda making my point. He's definitely an underappreciated Wings player.

Exactly. People remember the two mistakes Stuart made in Game 7, but not how many shots he blocked that playoff run or 2008 on the PK, let alone all of his years in Detroit. Or how not a single Wings d-man besides maybe E has come close to matching Stuart's PK ability since then.

Physical, sound defensively and the ideal partner to complement Kronwall. Kronner really was able to contribute at a higher level offensively and play more aggressively with Stuart there to cover for him.

It was the perfect deadline acquisition to put the 2008 team over the top. I know there isn't much positive history for comparison, but for me that is easily Holland's best trade since the lockout.
