thegerkin 189 Report post Posted September 3, 2014 (edited) Love the Big "D" logo on the top of the mask. Plus the Wing logos look huge. Edited September 4, 2014 by thegerkin
Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted September 3, 2014 That was a nice tribute he had. What's everyone's favorite edition? Mine is his 2013 lockout year mask. I didn't really care for his Spirit of Kyle Quincey one.
number9 3,297 Report post Posted September 3, 2014 Fav = 13-14, a reference only Detroiters really know. Just glad he stopped putting mustangs on his mask. Always thought they were tacky
joesuffP 1,746 Report post Posted September 3, 2014 Always wanted him to do something that really stood out like a black mask like hillers. Something a little less traditional
Echolalia 2,961 Report post Posted September 3, 2014 The Spirit of Detroit holding up the city skyline is an awesome concept but poorly executed. That could have been my favorite goalie mask of all time. I personally like 2008-2010. The retired numbers on the tachometer is a groovy blend of Red Wings history and Detroit history. 1 Gordie Howe hat trick reacted to this
GMRwings1983 8,788 Report post Posted September 3, 2014 Average mask. I would have had Robocop and Axel Foley on it. Maybe a picture of Yzerman and Grimson too. 1 Nev reacted to this
rick zombo 3,739 Report post Posted September 3, 2014 Whatever helmet he wore that time he beat up Crosby. That’s the best one. 2 sputman and Hockeymom1960 reacted to this

rick zombo 3,739 Report post Posted September 3, 2014 Cool. What about that time he made 51 saves against LA. That helmet was awesome too.
Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted September 3, 2014 Cool. What about that time he made 51 saves against LA. That helmet was awesome too. Same mask as the Crosby face wash game, both during the 2009-10 season.
_SP_ 129 Report post Posted September 3, 2014 ^^ I think you're on to something there... Anyway, I always thought that a good goalie mask theme would be Thor. Thor was a God of confidence and a protector. Trust, strength, and defense. Sounds like attributes I'd want my goalie to have. Or Nike, the Winged Goddess of Victory. How cool would a Red-Winged concept of Nike be?

Can't wait to the masks of the other goalies, especially Hiller I absolutely love the Nordic mythology so a Thor our Odin themed one would be absolutely fantastic. MabusIncarnate 5,343 Report post Posted September 3, 2014 I think it's very cool in it's simplicity. The comic book fan in me always liked his Doctor Octopus one, the artwork wasn't stellar but the theme of it was excellent. Maybe if it was done by one of the artists that does the actual Spiderman comics it would have turned out better.
