Nev 1,085 Report post Posted September 21, 2014 If we don't sign "G.I." Joe Hicketts: American Hero, I will riot. I don't know if he's good enough to win a spot in GR, or if he would be prepared to play in Toledo, but the kid has had a great camp. Is he still draft eligable if he returns to Junior? There was a quote from a scout a few weeks ago who was surprised he'd gone undrafted.

He's returning to Victoria this season, as he's only just turned 18. So he's definitely draft eligible.
anthonyn66 89 Report post Posted September 21, 2014 I'll hand it to the guys, and I know none of you want to hear this, but Daniel Cleary looks much better off this year than he did last year. He's skating a lot better, and is showing some promise playing with Mule and Hank. WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY

Jesusberg 1,256 Report post Posted September 21, 2014 I really don't have an issue with Cleary IF he's playing at an effective level. What I do wonder is if spreading the forwards around so much is going to hurt the team at all. Camp lines are only camp lines, but they're running something like: Helm-Dats-Tatar Mule-Z-Cleary Abs-Weiss-Nyquist Miller-Glendening-Sheahan? (I think? I've seen Sheahan on a line with Jurco, though.) It just feels weird to see the players spread around like that. I'm sure things will sort themselves out during the exhibition games, though. 1 krsmith17 reacted to this
wings_fanatic 677 Report post Posted September 21, 2014 I think Babs is going to go with Pav and Hank together to start the regular season. He continues to reference Weiss as the 2nd line centeman, which means Hank will likely play on the 1st line with Pav. Hank- Pav- Helm/ Aflie Franzen- Weiss- Nyquivst Jurco- Sheahan- Tatar The Red Wings have a GREAT group of forwards, far better then what people act like. IT is actually hard to come up with lines because there are lots of difference possiilities so I am looking forward to this season.

Camp lines only camp lines indeed. Those are not the lines we'll see on October 9th and if they are, I'm going to cry.
gcom007 1,465 Report post Posted September 22, 2014 Cleary can look good in camp all he wants. I'm no Cleary hater and I'd love to see the guy come in and play great and earn his keep, but I'll be very surprised if he can stay healthy and strong down the stretch. He's had a lot of time off now, so I'd hope he'd look better, but again, once the grind of the season kicks up, I think we'll be reevaluating things quick. number9 3,297 Report post Posted September 22, 2014 I'm predicting 82 gp, 27-20-47 for Cleary this year. I think that's pretty fair based on his training camp performance thus far. 2 T.Low and Nev reacted to this

martinezsvsu 240 Report post Posted September 22, 2014 babcock threw legs and weiss on the fourth line so he would have no problem putting cleary on the fourth if he starts sucking or even scratching him like he did with white.
