Yeah but I don't' mind that..I hate the constant whiny voice of that one dude for the pens and them always acting like any penalty on the pens players was the worse thing they have ever saw. and when the pens would do something it was a weak call.

The game as a whole is pretty sloppy, so its tough to gauge exactly what kind of player he can be just yet, but he definitely is skating better than anytime last year. He's moving well, getting open, rushing to pucks, that sort of thing.

I can see Kindl and Lashoff dropping in the depth chart for someone like Oulette, or if the Wings are desperate for some points from the back end, Sproul (although I think the former is more NHL ready). Smith makes some bonehead plays on the ice from time to time, but he's definitely a level above Kindl and Lashoff, and has a higher ceiling than either as well.
