Weiss sent down to GR- conditioning assignment

Weiss must just have character issues (not that he's a jerk or anything). He was used to being handed first line minutes in FLA where they had a terrible tradition of being horrible and now he comes to Detroit and gets outworked by kids around him and just watches as his chances fly by. I don't think Weiss is an every-dayer that Babs preaches about.

somewhere holland is so doing a dance. makes his life easier.

Which makes me question how much input Babs had into the signing? I don't know but so far this is getting ridiculous.

Whenever he gets his chance here, weiss better be running away with it otherwise I could see them exploring trade options. Maybe for Eriksson who doesn't fit with Boston

Just a sore groin, guys. These things tend to happen when you don't play for a long time. Remember when Helm finally came back and he went out with a sore groin almost instantly? Nothing to worry about as far as I'm concerned. This is basically the reason why he was sent to GR to begin with.

Let's hope so. But we're talking about a guy who had sports hernia surgery, so I don't think concern is completely unfounded here.

I hope it's routine "sore groin while getting back into game shape" and not a sore groin from the persistent problems he's had over the last year.

So I guess we can expect cleary to have a sore groin as well during period one when he finally plays in game 23 of the season

That's the problem we want him to get a sore groin when he plays. But he won't and will play every remaining game.

You said it...wow. This guy is damaged goods, there should be a clause in contracts that state if you continue to fail physicals or cannot play an extended amount of time for so many years in row, your contract can be voided without penalty. He was hurt when he came here and hasn't been able to play hard since. I like the guy and would love to give him a chance, but at what point do you wash your hands and put him on LTIR? He has got to be the highest paid player in the NHL when you break down his pay per minute played...sometimes you win in UFA, sometimes you lose...I am about ready to chalk this up to a loss.

Welp, Weiss is done. If he achieves anything wearing a Red Wings jersey I'll look at it as a bonus. Hopefully users will stop whining about him not being in the lineup when we go through a scoring drought. Sucks we're wasting a lot of room on him but what can you do. Work with what you got. Nobody could have predicted this (well, not to this extent at least) Holland bashers will have some more firepower- Hossa>Franzen, Sammy, Weiss that whole dribble
