I was trying to be sarcastic. Guess I failed.

Yes you did. Hard to pick up sarcasm on the internet.

So we can't discuss the merits of your answer now if we don't like it? I thought that's what this forum was for? I hate the don't like it don't read it argument. I read every post on the forum, how am I supposed to know what I agree with before reading it? Similarly then, pm people if you don't want people to refute your arguments

This. FFS, frank. Just as you have the right to post your opinion throughout the course of discussion, others here have the right to comment on, question, or otherwise dispute the validity of your statements. In the real world, when we say things, there are repercussions to those statements. You don't live in a bubble, and this website is not your personal diary. So just as you seem to have adopted a "don't like it don't read it" policy (which has been pointed out as asinine as you don't know if you like it until you read it), I would argue that if you don't like your views commented on, don't post them on a public forum where the sole purpose is discussion.

People like to hate on PK's swagger (my word, not his), but my GOD you would love him here. There wouldn't be any, "he's cocky/arrogant/a rat" stuff here. There'd be just a bunch of accusations about swagger hatersfrom other team's fan bases.

Harold asked for an answer and I replied to him.

Don't like my answer, don't read it it's very simple. Please leave it up to myself (I can think alone thanks), to judge whats problematic and what not...just a hint a lot of stuff post 2005 is problematic in the NHL.

Don't like someone's response to your answer Frank? DONT READ IT.

Hopefully that points out how backwards your don't like it don't read it stance is.

Franzen has as many or more cheapshots and suckerpunches than Subban.

I guess he's a rat too.

He is. Or another word *****. Franzen is a pansy there is no secret to this. He has a well deserved rep for being such.

In one of my first post I said I would love him here. Just like I would've loved pronger here. You need a couple guys like that.

But it still doesn't change the fact they have done stupid s***. But having a rat or two is good cause it drives other teams insane. It's also good to have fighters. People who stick up for eachother.

Crazy end to the Rags/Pens game. Rangers "win"

Called back Boyle's goal after teams went to the dressing rooms.

Sutter scores on Lunquvist. MAF stops Nash. Pens win. CRaZeeeeEeee.

Also, Boyle with horrible giveaway ala some of our favorite whipping boys that lead to scoring chance/goal.

So glad we're not paying him.

I have no problem with others question my opinion that's like you've eloquently pointed out is the goal of a forum but I just don't understand why I should have to "defend" my stance on not liking a player, who like many others of the "new group" (Kadri, Eller, Yakupov...). And no, I wouldn't want any of those guys on the Wings we've had Sean Avery and those are all not the kind of guys I will cheer for. Like Brian Burke once said if you remove the bodyguards from the games, the rats are going to take over and a lot of rats are also a very entitled bunch so I guess he wasn't wrong.

Also man Toronto they did beat Boston easily and then lose to the Sabers wow

Sean Avery was a talentless thug who never knew when to shut his mouth. P.k. is young extremely talented dman. Big difference. I don't know how you could compare Sean Avery to any of the guys you mentioned. Even yakupov is light years ahead of him.

The parity in the NHL is just insane now - it's so difficult to predict who's going to win/go on streaks, anymore. Even some of the powerhouse teams (Boston, St. Louis, Los Angeles) have had a ton of ups and downs this season. Meanwhile, teams like Calgary, Nashville, Winnipeg and Vancouver are coming out of nowhere. It's just mind boggling (and a pain if you're into fantasy hockey or Pro-Line).

If you're going to lump PK Subban, Lars Eller, Nazem Kadri, Nail Yakupov, and Sean Avery into the same group you're going to have to do some explaining Frank. I understand that you might not like any of them, but this is a similar group of players in very few regards. Edited by number9

I honestly don't understand the amount of slack they've given Carlyle. The guy's already hung himself with what they've given him. He doesn't have any answers.

I'd agree about him being gone by/around the new year, but I'm not even sure they Leafs' brass has that much sense. They needed to make changes in personnel and staff about 6 months ago, IMO.

I also agree on the new year being the benchmark for Carlyle. I also agree that he's caricature of a NHL-Coach. But I don't think Carlyle is the main problem. If you need to have guys like Kadri centering your first line and Phaenuef/Franson being your best pair of defenders you first have to fix your roster before you fire the coach. I know, this not how it works in sports but its not only Carlye who is to blame here. Burke and the whole backoffice f***ed Toronto up and it's still showing.

I think the will let him play out the year and then fire him (like MLSE did with Burke). The problem with coaches like Carlyle is their toughlove approach nowadays athletes aren't going to put up with that type of coaching and he also doesn't seem to have many answers other than "compete" and the Leafs lack of identity guess what? Two players who not only gave this team confidence but also an identity were assigned to the Marlies instead of having them play ~ 5 - 8 minutes on the fourth line.

I mean giving up 9 goals against a defense first team is a lot

A tough love coach who doesn't have many answers other than "compete". Where have I heard that before?

And how don't you see the obvious contradiction between what you've said above, and other strongly held beliefs about NHL coaches?
