SimonSin 192 Report post Posted November 1, 2014 Big win but it was ugly after the Kings scored their first goal. Quick made some great saves later on in the game though. Howard played great as well. This was a game that the Wings would have lost last year. Hopefully Quincey injury isn't too bad but we got guys in the minors ready to play. Hopefully Franzen can pick up right where he left off and we can keep rolling. Good to see some PP goals. Good game.

wings_fanatic 677 Report post Posted November 1, 2014 Great win by the Wings. They were flying in the 1st, began to step back too much in the 2nd, paid for it at the start of the 3rd. But, they got through it, worked hard and started taking over the game again and controlled the last 15 or so minutes of the game. Our best players were the best players on the ice. Pav and Hank just work soooooo well together. When they are able to play together I don't care what anyone says, they are the best line in hockey. The problem is making them continue to be able to work together. The kid line was fantastic tonight. By far their best game of the season. Keep them together. Gus and Tats have chemistry together that is working. One thing is for sure. LA is a Very good team. They were missing key players and still battled hard and pushed the Wings for a bit there. Having said that, I really liked the way the Red Wings played against a great team. I don;t know where Franzen comes in because I do not want the top 2 lines touched and I like the 3rd line as well. Gotta love when you have tough decisions like that. 1 zztop40 reacted to this

Wheelchairsuperhero 1,453 Report post Posted November 1, 2014 Great game, and I'm also pleased to read that other people are as disappointed with the Quincey loss as I am and not blinded by the rage of his resigning. He's been great defensively so far this year. And does anyone know the official count for Datsyuk's takeaways that game? He looked like he was everywhere. I think Datsyuk only got 3 official takeaways according to ESPN, but that might not be correct. Totally agree with you. You could see how much trouble we started having getting the puck out of our end when Q went down. He has been good this year.

kipwinger 8,524 Report post Posted November 1, 2014 Well that got out of hand quickly. I liked the Dats line and the Sheahan line. Glad to see Tatar get one. Looking forward to Franzen getting back so everyone can get slotted where they should and the offense will hopefully roll ing. p.s. Glendening was real good too. p.p.s. The defense is still woefully bad at advancing the puck.
matthewdanna 143 Report post Posted November 1, 2014 Quincey has played wellllllllllllll worth his contract so far. It kind of sucks he went down. Truth. If he is out, I would rather see XO come up and play over Lash. With Mule coming back I would like to see this for 2 periods: Guz - Z - Mule Helm - Pav - Abby Nesty - Sheahan - Tatar (I think Nesty is outplaying Jurco right now) Andy - Glen, Glen-Glen-Glen - Miller Kronner - Smith DK - XO E - Kindl Then in the 3rd change the top 3 lines Z - Pav - Abby (Abby is earning it) Gus - Sheahan - Tatar (this line was hot tonight) Mule - Helm - Nesty One of the benefits of not having a lot of turnover is we can change up our lines and still have decent chemistry 1 jimmyemeryhunter reacted to this

Hes in the right spots all the time, hasn't been making bad turnovers, isn't a liability, he's just snake bitten right now, I think once they start going in its going to be hard not to keep playing him. But he's faster, and him and helm have caused terror on the forecheck.
jimmyemeryhunter 2,747 Report post Posted November 1, 2014 That's not to diminish nestrasil either, Cuz he's not a bad third liner, he seems snake bitten too, and his positioning is pretty damn good too but Jurco seems like a larger part of our future than him, and if he develops good chemistry with helm then our third line could be dominate once he gets going. Tonight on that wraparound attempt from helm, where Jurco drew the hooking call, they just played off each other really well... But then again so did nestrasil, you can see him lurking up ready to jump in the play or fall back....theyre honestly not a bad checking line, they do a lot of good things together which will only get better the longer they're together. Unfortunately they're not scoring, but Jurco hard in that sophomore slump, and being dominant in the ahl would probably do wonders for him. 1 matthewdanna reacted to this

Man, that one sequence where Quick stood on his head... I would have loved to see one of them cash in. Totally agree that Jurco has a way higher ceiling... just need to get him going. 1 jimmyemeryhunter reacted to this
