jimmyemeryhunter 2,747 Report post Posted November 1, 2014 Agreed. Man, that one sequence where Quick stood on his head... I would have loved to see one of them cash in. Totally agree that Jurco has a way higher ceiling... just need to get him going. Quick, in my humble opinion is one of only a couple of top ten goalies that I think are actually elite and not just a product of the guys in front of him. He makes saves that shouldn't be possible. And I've been so high on jurco for so long, it sucks to see him struggle this much. At some point before he runs out of waver exemptions if he hasn't gotten going, they're gonna have to send him down. Like even compared to last year, he almost seems like he's regressed.. Some of the things he tried, like his first goal, the spin o rama backhand, and all the creative stuff he was trying and now he's just fitting the third line role. I get the whole simplifying your game thing, but when you've got those skills, I don't want you to be simple, hang some jockstraps from the rafters... e_prime 1,936 Report post Posted November 1, 2014 (edited) Great game last night. Started to lose a little steam in the second and were back on their heels in the beginning of the third, but good to see them right the ship and gather some steam at the end of the game. Only concerns at this point is how we will be able to handle the grind of the season. Not that size is the end all and be all of the game, but I still remain slightly concerned about the durability of our team. Either way, we proved we can hang with and beat the Stanley Cup champs. Keep it going, boys! 6-2-2. Beautiful start to the season! THE MONTH OF DEATH IS OVER!! Here comes November!! 11/2- @BUF11/4- @OTT11/5- @NYR11/7- vs NJD11/9- vs TBL11/14-vs CHI11/16-vs MTL11/18-@CBJ11/20-@WPG11/22-@TOR11/24-vs OTT11/26-vs PHI11/28-@NJD11/30-vs VAN I say 8-3-3 for the month. If we play like we have, there's no reason we should lose more than two of those games.Montreal, maybe. And Chicago, probably. I'd like to go undefeated this month, we haven't had one of those streaks in a while, and as long as they play like we know they can they could. so I'll say 10-2-2, but they should go 14-ohhhhhh. You have to factor in puck luck and conspiratorial reffing, dude. Bad bounces, blown calls, and disallowed goals+penalties ADD UP. ...but I love your enthusiasm! 1 jimmyemeryhunter reacted to this

Bad bounces, blown calls, and disallowed goals+penalties ADD UP. ...but I love your enthusiasm! Hahaha. For sure. But Listen here brother man, I'm a wings fan, so I'm effin Confused as to what puck luck is, and I've seen us get one call our way since I can remember. (And I'm conceding to the fact that refs will miss your average penalty call here and there) All I know is, for the first time in years. We've got amazing leadership+team speed that we didn't have during our dynasty years. But yeah. Even with that said. Those figures are reliant on some goodluck. 1 e_prime reacted to this
jimmyemeryhunter 2,747 Report post Posted November 1, 2014 (edited) Also. I'm aging faster than a 25 year old should, so my judgements probably askew, but I wanna be legally drunk for some dominant years while my age and non dependent status still allows permissible jack-assery. Optimistic. You better believe it bro, but my girlfriend is starting to talk me into the idea that having kids would be fun, so I'm enjoying things while I can. Ha. Here's hoping they don't take the Sabres game for granted and have a let down. This is pretty much my exact fear. The team is riding a high and Mule is going to jump back into the line-up. To me, this game is going to be as important as any they have played so far this year. I want to see that killer instinct they've been lacking in previous seasons. I want to see them crush Buffalo and limit them to 10 shots on goal. Edit: Not to mention, it's a dreaded afternoon game. The killer instinct is huge and much needed. If your opponent is down, don't let them up, crush their throat with your skate.
haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted November 1, 2014 Great to see Ericsson go after Nolan for that hit from behind. Had they actually squared off Ericsson would've had his hands full with Nolan, but I still like that he went right at him. Im' a fan of Nolan generally, but that was a clear hit from behind. Looking away isn't an excuse for hitting a guy in the numbers. 1 raven756 reacted to this

I, on the other hand, can't stand them but the matchup makes for a action packed game every time we meet it seems. Next time I'm trying to pick a game to go watch, I'm definitely going to a Wings vs Kings faceoff. Edited November 1, 2014 by Hockeymom1960

Looking away isn't an excuse for hitting a guy in the numbers. Definitely agree. Was really excited when Ericsson went right at him and took him down. I'm also amazed he only got two and in turn we only got a 4 on 4 out of it. I thought they were really supposed to be cracking down on this sort of thing? I recall one of our prospects getting a 5 and ejected during the preseason for a hit that was way less heavy than that one.Edit: Overall I'm trying to complain less about the refs because it's clear that they're not our sole issue, but I've been particularly disappointed in the officiating this year up to this point, and that's for calls for and against us. Trying to complain less? I'll try to complain less about the Refs when they stop gift wrapping opposing teams goals, and taking all our good goals away, and when they started calling fair penalties, not just score based one's
