Wow people are really freaking out. We played like absolute s*** the last 2 games and almost beat both teams. Tatar/Jurco just need to adjust, hell it seems as though you can see those 2 slowly emerging from their slumps. Calm down everyone

I'm not freaking out, but it's certainly disconcerting when you start the season off 6-2-2. Start a new month and proceed to drop your first two games against teams that you should beat.

I know that we got a point out of that game vs. Buffalo... but it was only one point... in a game... with Buffalo.

I don't know if you've noticed but a few other teams are dropping games they should win too. Montreal comes to mind.

Game was a bummer. Slow start in the first, can't let that happen tonight. All those giveaways and breakaways....let's not do that again, please. LGW!

Jurco needs to find his form. I don't think he is playing awful, but I feel like he could do more to help the squad if he bumps it up a level.

I think its safe to say mtl can afford it we aren't the oldWings teams anymore the 1st-5th place spots are over so your looking at a 7th or 8th seed at best and I think that's why ppl are losing it im not yet its only the 2nd month if we are dropping in jan feb ill worry

First of all, nobody is "freaking out". While it's probably easier to argue with someone after you've painted them as hysterical, for the sake of reasonable discourse maybe cut down on the hyperbole a little bit.

Secondly, I imagine people would be less freaked out if we were steam rolling teams and then just lost a stinker or two here and there. But that's not really the case. Only about half our victories are convincing, and many of our loses are brutal to watch. Be can barely score goals, and our powerplay is a mess. Then add on top of that, two loses in two games to two very bad teams and I think it's reasonable for people to be concerned. Is this the end of the line for our team? Nope. But last season is starting to look vaguely familiar.

7th or 8th? Were two points back of the conference and division lead. Montreal has 17 points in 13 games, we have 15 in 12, Tampa has 17 in 12 and Pittsburgh has 17 in 11. I think we're a far cry from being written off. 70 games left and people are saying we're a 7th/8th seed at best is laughable, when we're only 2 points back of the lead.

Ok let me ask you this. I'm assuming that you've watched all or most of the games. Based on what you've seen both in our wins and our loses, are you confident that this team can contend with the better teams in the league over a full season and playoffs?

Everyone here wants the team to improve. I don't think anybody is going to be happy just squeaking into the playoffs and getting beat early (and badly). So are you confident that we're not that kind of team?

I'm not. Regardless of where we sit in the standings with 70 games to go.

Assuming Tatar jurco and sheahan can start producing offensively absolutely. We've played against the better teams, it's the bottom feeders that we seem to take for granted and play poorly against.

Ok, fair enough. I'm not trying to argue with you or anything. If you think that's the difference it's hard to disagree, especially since we haven't seen it. Maybe that is absolutely the missing piece to the puzzle. I have no idea.

Well no one can say for sure one way or another until we see it first hand, but look how much better they made us last year. If we got one goal from our 2nd line and possibly our third line every game we would be fine. As I said we've had some games where we looked really good, and a few games where we looked bad. I think we're playing right around where well end up, around the 4th playoff spot.

Yeah, those were big fat juicy points on the table just waiting for us, and we squandered them. It's frustrating to see them waist that opportunity to say the least.
